The late Davy Graham and a female singer called, Holly, recorded a really nice version of this for a rather obscurely-titled album, "Goddington Boundary". It's still available on CD and well-worth checking out .....

No criticism, speaking as a bass player vocalist myself, mind you!

Looks like a Gibson EB3 by the way; I had one of those myself way back in the 1970's....

@xtenkfarpl yes good point I didn't notice that. I'm not a bass player - playing guitar and singing is fairly easy I find but playing bass and singing looks almost impossible to me...

If I did learn bass I'd want one of those basses that Heron is using here.

Overall: thumbs down......I like the basic melody, and harmony, the beat is super annoying- sounds like some classical madrigal meets the banana splits.....an embarrassment to the hippie tribe

Super nice!! It is hard to say that this song from the band is my fave? Because I have so many from them ...... a whole youth spent listening ....... that video from them, really displayed their versatility. Almost reggae!

Wonderful stuff - they weren't called the INCREDIBLE String Band for no reason!

I wouldn't mind betting that this sounded better at the time than on this recording - shame it's so muffled.

But the spirit comes through!

The song is from their first album in 1966, but here with "Licorise" and Rose.
