I like your style man, nice finger work going on their, I bet your girlfriend well loves your finger action he he That was a joke by the way, nice demo man, SRV stuff is not for beginners, it can get very difficult, he did an unplugged night once, the same time as Joe satriani, what a great show he put on man.
Hey, i like that but do ya think you could do a little slower run next time you put something up so a pee brain like me doesn't have to keep rewinding. thanks
dont really get it dude, ive seen a few players and tabs in guitar magazines where stevies plaing the C# in this example not the C, i kinda am inclined more towards replacing this 'flat 2' with the C# so if its in the key of Aminor it be the B note, maybe he uses both?someone with knowledge and experience could shed some light on this?not to deny that this guy sounds good and is sounding like stevie here, good shit
@mjguitar6132 honestly,,,you can't get that classic blues tone from a Les Paul like you can with a Strat I have Gibons and Fenders and I love both but NOTHING comes close to that oh so sweet and classic blues tone like a good old Strat. BUt You can certainly get some good tones out of your Paul.
I think the reason that he doesn't sound a hell of a lot like Stevie is cause he hasnt tuned down a half step, stevie ALWAYS tuned down a half step, this guy's a good player though.
@thefever11 Actually Stevie did play in standard tuning for sometime, you can tell if you listen to his Live at the Montreoux album, the first Pride and Joy is in standard and the second is down a half step
@dudicleman dumbass. if you listen to the guy he says that he doesn't have a heavy pick on him. try listening to the vid before trying to sound like you know everything.
This guy is an outstanding guitarist; but he sounds nothing like Stevie Ray Vaughn; not even close. For that matter, no one sounds anything like him -- I can pick Stevie Ray out of 1,000 clones of himself. You cannot teach a particular style; style is an intrinsic quality of the player. But many props to this guy's guitar skill in general.
gotta work on that tone....and SRV used fender medium picks...he says that in an interview. He said that he could do his rythmn playing easier, and wouldnt get caught up on strings as much. He used the fat end as well
the switch on his guitar is on the bridge pickup... stevie had it on the neck...

stevie never has used the bridge pickup! that´s the reason why the tone is not the same.

How to play like Stevie:
Pick up the guitar
Play Like Stevie fucking Ray Vaughan.

This is a lesson and demo.
First you have to grasp the concept of a lesson.
Pay attention to what is being played and shown and not so much to the tone being used for the lesson.

Not sure what some of these guys are talking about. I have been playing for 27 years... Studying, teaching, and performing. You are playing it great.

do you actually listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan?
Medium picks, not heavy picks.
play harder, with more aggression in your picking hand, and in vibrato.
