This is the error message I am getting when trying to SSH

Apple-TV:~ root# apt-get update

E: Type ':deb' is not known on line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/awkwar­dtv.list

My Apple TV won't start after I exit putty. The light just goes off and on and nothing happens.

tried putty the first time and jailbreak worked awesome! then I had to remove\recover and rejailbreak the same device a second time... now when i go into putty it will not let me type in a password...was easy to ssh the first time... is there a way around this or are the devices not capable of being jailbroken a second time? please help and thank you in advance!! i hope i havent ruined this device...

@jastief201 try it again i just did it and its working fine for me, i have twitted about it with picture that this works if you have twitter come there i'll show you its working, maybe your ISP is not allow you to get connected but i can't say that either try again

Thanks great video. One question, when i go into putty, after i type "Root" I am not able to enter another command. I type but putty doesnt register any characters. I tried reinstalling twice and no difference, any ideas?

No matching processes were found

tried a bunch of times, apple must have changed it. What i did was just unplug my power plug and that did the reboot.

this should be updated in your tutorial or posted somewhere.

@acuna13 I had the same problem at first but i typed in killall appletv then changed it to killall AppleTV and it worked.

1. re-Ssh in to AppleTV2,

2. retry again see if alows you

If Not

3. Rejailbreak and try again,

@startliners yes killall appleTV is one word, if don't work don't worry try killall Lowtide if still having problems just type exit and then just simply turn off appleTV 2 by taking the power cord out and putting it back on

if you have a problem installing nito with the apt-get install com.nito.nitotv string, at the next root prompt push the up button and pull up or just type in apt-get update again. I had a problem the first time I called the update and so when I went to install it wasn't pulling from the updated cydia packages and failed. Update worked the second time and all was good. Thx uploader.

@xctechs Navi-x is cool but is poorly organized. I use Navi-x for most movies and icefilms for tv shows. Icefilms does have issues more often but usually are fixed with in 1 day or so with an auto update.

There isn't any good repositorys that come in xbmc like icefilms. You have to get that on your own and use filezilla to put it into your Atv.

There are some plugins for XBMC to stream Al Jazeera English Live and other streams from internet.

And there is a plugin called LiveStreams, head to google or xbmc forum and search XBMC LiveStreams.

@topback99 As you can see in the Video Putty doesn't show that you are typing the password but you do just type alpine and press enter it will logon.
