Recoba was the best Uruguayan player, only after Hector Scarone. My favorite player, I grew up in Uruguay and Im a big fan of Danubio FC I was lucky enough to see him play on youth teams in 1993 he scored 37 goals and with only 17 years old moved to the first team, played two brilliant seasons and scored lots of goals to help the team stay in div 1, today he is back home in Danubio with 34 years old and the left foot and the magic are still there, Is a gift from god to watch him play every sunday

Compare Recoba and Raul. Both left footed, both played in the same era, both of similar height and build, both played in the same position. Recoba was ten times more talented but Raul achieved so much more. It's a shame Recoba didn't reach his potential. I think it was Inter's fault for not giving him a consistent run in the side.

messi is waaaaaaaaaaaay faster and Recoba is way more skillful but he gets injured easily. He had some serious shit on his knee once and since then he never reached the potential of somone worthy of his skill.
When he played for Uruguay he rerely made it to the 90 minutes withouth complaining and leave due to his pain.
@BurnRoddy recoba with 24 or 25 years is faster than messi I’m sure. If you watch my others videos you can see that. and he played very well with uruguay against teams like brazil and argentina. It’s true with all his injuries he couldn’t reached all potential but recoba is a great player.
