What a painful thing to watch. I knew Liam pretty well for most of the 60s and on and off after that and the man was just so full of life. Mind you, there is lots of life in this video even though his body is failing him but still, it pained me. I just wonder how he will be reincarnated.

Liam saw his audience as ants, looking down from an airplane, the people who went to the concerts were insignificant little insects. He says so in this interview. He was easily the best member of Tommy Makem's backing band - Tommy was Ireland's biggest star ever, and he will always remain so.

That was both upsetting and enlightening, the suffering that goes with genius, I'm not looking for agreement on this. Not a man you'd describe as being something else, he made a much better job of being himself. Liam gives the greatest of hope to many people, one of Ireland's great men and there are, luckily, many of them.

Glad to have happened upon this interview. Liam along wiht his brothers and Tommy Makem were a big part of my life.  They were more than the sum of their parts. They are all gone now...but never to be forgotten.

Mr. Clancy... I just heard of it today, and I feel ashamed that I didn't learn it sooner. Lots of people have commented, and more will as they discover, but I just wanted to say, in words that don't seem close enough as I type this, that you weren't the first who made me pick up a guitar, but you were the first I remember hearing as a kid on road trips to anywhere in our van, where I couldn't sleep because I was transfixed by your words. Liam was to me the first music I ever heard and (God willing) the last I will ever hear. I even met him once and tried to tell him how much the CB/TM meant to me...I couldn't find the word but he understood. He even sang a song for my departed father. I am a lifelong lover of music and am a musician, but no one and nothing will ever mean as much to me as Liam's singing. God bless, rest, and give glory.

Saw The Yellow Bittern in Dungarvan yesterday. Stunning, beautiful, poignant! Not at all what I expected - but a fitting tribute to an exceptional man. Such a shame you weren't there last night Liam -the theatre was overflowing with love for you. Get well soon. Eileen
