  • I always wondered why time travelers couldn't just buy one on ebay? This whole "I must go to 1975 to get one" is poetic nonsense.

  • @charizardpal you can't and you'll never find this model on ebay you moron, it's an antic with a small amount of functioning models left in the world.

  • @DDracee I saw it on ebay for $1000 a few weeks ago.

  • @charizardpal probably the 5155, the 5100 didn't have many produced to start with because of the lack of customers, now there's even less with time. The 5155 on the other hand was reasonably mass-produced and can be found for 500$-1000$. Even if what you say is true, they'll probably no longer be any functional 5100 in 2036, especially after the civil war and WWIII. If you're going to go back, might as-well go back to the 70's to get a new one.

  • One of the first machines to offer a turn key Basic it also had APL as an option which was normally only available on mainframes.

The only two machines I know that offered that feature prior was the HP 9830A and the Wang 2200 but they only offered Basic.

Most small machines from the era such as the Altair 8800 and IMSAI 8080 made famous from war games needed a boot loader toggled in or had a simple boot rom and then Basic had to be loaded off paper tape.

  • lucky guy (:

  • WOW ! look at all of those transistors ! >_< can You imagine a computer with today's power using transistors ? It would take up a whole house !! lol

  • what do you mean you cant look up p0rn !!!!!!

  • Very cool... I wonder what OS she runs...

  • Once it calculates above 1000, its time to turn that bitch off before meltdown!

  • HURRY break into SERN's base, hack dat shit!

  • El. Psy. Congroo.

  • Do you know 'Steins;Gate' ?

  • My microwave is a time machine.

  • use it to ultrapas 1% divergence

  • Пойдет на нём GTA 4?

  • Very Sweet :) QC

  • Use it to decode CERN's database.

  • at 2:01 i was like: what is he doing!

  • Will it blend?

  • For 37 years mankind makes path from abm5100 to iphones and ledTV. After 37 years we make path from iphones to Nexus tec. And all what you need, has at your mind.

  • I From Stains Gate.

  • Nice little piece of history you have there :)

  • Can this run Minecraft?

  • @Parkjimin950521 It has power to change the past

  • Go on youtube with them :D

  • Keep it for another like 30 years it may be useful :)

  • and now we got computers in our pockets

  • sound like its pumping water.

  • Tuturuu~

  • Just amazing,. Thanks for sharing. Even today's I got no clue how to build even that tech. Not to mention todays:)

  • Can my iPad connect to this??? (;

  • Keep your eyes open for SERN!

  • i want one like this ;)

  • steins gate hehe.. this anime gives me a bradypnea

  • is it a new mac?

  • since you took the top of its back to its normal price $0.55 that was alot for the cavemen hew used that for the only website rock ebay.rock

  • @drdeath25892589 This computer is worth more then 55 cents. These things have because quite collectible over the years.

This computer could easily fetch 1000$ and even more today.

  • @drdeath25892589 That PC goes for over $20,000. I marks a turning point in Personal Computer technology. If it's so beneath you, could you make a better, more beautiful piece of machinery?

This thing is a work Art.

  • Tutturu

  • Nice karate move! 2:00

  • imagine if an ipod touch had a CRT in it XD

  • the IBM of john titor! :D

  • El patrimonio congro

  • Steins gate

  • man can that old computer do math or other things

  • @family97987 They can do what ever you program them to, as long as you keep the program within the hardware limits. The maths was just to demonstrate it doing something.

  • lol all I can think of is LOST and STEINS; GATE

  • very nice beautiful piece of history :-)

  • GOB.BAS

    10 PRINT "Penus";

    20 GOTO 10

  • すげー

    動いてるよ

  • look, this is a pice of hardware that you cant get today

  • you dont want people seeing your face do you so thats why you put that box up?

  • this reminds me of fallout 3

  • I am mad scientist, it's so cool !

  • Can't imagine how expensive this must have been back then. Really-really high tech for 1975, and judging by all the PCB's (and the 1975 date) I guess it had a custom CPU. Great vid!

  • Biggest. Screen. EVER!

  • so, where do you put the graphic card?

  • im from the future.... and im lost.. i think ill fail.....

  • Amazing that it still works given the complexity.

  • Share it with your friends :) QC

  • BEAST!!!

  • Amazing piece of hardware. Congratulations man!

  • What was the purpose of that demonstration program you were running? I just typed the same program on my Vic 20 and it displayed an endless stream of zeros. Nice machine though and thanks for the upload.

  • @summer20105707

I have to correct myself I made a typo entering the program. I see its a multiplying math program. Thanks for the upload.

  • *nerdgasm*

  • For those that don't know that foam in the bottom of this is rotten and gooey. That foam is one of the things that I hate about vintage IBM computers that they had used.

  • Thumbs Up if you found it by knowing that John Titor came from 2036 to pick one of those 5100 and BACK TO THE FUTURE.

  • thumbs up if ur watchinf this because of Steins;Gate. WHY DID IT END!!???!!!???!!

  • Look powerful enough to log in to Facebook whit it!

  • Give you $100.00 for it :) QC

  • I learned programming on one of these at my local community college. These are great machines.

  • Cool programing man

  • But will it blend?

  • Steins Gate

  • Are you John Titor?

  • looks like NASA technology. What a great machine

  • Can it handle time crysis? It looks like a beast of a computer =D

  • and still works, unbelievable

  • Amazing. I always thougth the first PC was in the early 80's. I like the power switch. Wish it was that easy today. That was a lot of tech for the day. Thank you for sharing this.

  • @generac43 In fact the first PC was in the 80s. PCs are almost referred to the IBM-PC and its following designs. This thing here is called a "microcomputer".-

  • why would John titor take this bk to the future?, wat could this possibly do to help or affect the future???

  • @MyNameIsBumbles it think it's because it can decode the Sern's project

  • @MyNameIsBumbles Actually, if you knew more about the Titor Happening, you'd know it was needed to "debug" legacy programs to work after the Unix 2038 problem

  • Mayuri... ;_; ...

  • For a geek like me, this historic piece is just pure porn, I'm salivating!! :o)

I love how you treat it so gently then just crack it one on the case lolol

Wow, that interior is just a work of art!! :o)

  • Dmail !!

    Where is the Dmail !!!

  • what could that POS do?

  • FUCK SERN, THIS GUY WILL KILL U

  • @RSUnicorn

    SERN Agent detected.

  • @Audioriginal We should use Futuristic Gadget #8 to send a message to the past that stops him from making that comment!

  • all the weeaboo are watching this vid cuz of steindo;gate?

  • @RSUnicorn Hell yes

  • Can I hack into SERN with one of these?

  • whether the object is sought by John Titor ??

  • El. Psy. Congroo.

  • can i play crysis 2 with this?

  • @TheMoronism erm, I think you can have a crisis or 2 if it falls on you :)

  • @TheMoronism Run YES, Play NO

  • @TheMoronism AND IT HAS TO BE ON HIGH RESOLUTION

  • @TheMoronism

The fact that your username contains "moron" is all the explanation required for your n00b comment. :p

  • @TheMoronism YES IT CAN RUN CRYSIS 2! ...the text adventure version ...if you program it...

  • do u sell it?

  • parece la de steins gate

  • @puyokiba es esa

  • john titor wishes he had one of these

  • @denslat1 you watched anime too much.

  • @dol1983

actually, Steins gate is based off truth, a man named john titor claims to have travelled from the future, wether or not he did, is another story.

  • This was designed with influences from the IBM selectric typewriter line.

  • je l'achete 300 euro si vous ete daccord je vous en supplie repondez

  • ar u John Titor

  • Fast CPU

  • @johnnydicamillo

Yep, pretty fast for the time. And it was implemented entirely in discrete ECL logic chips, just like its larger cousins.

  • It could run most single-job 370 software with little or no modification. Because all the logic is in microcode, custom instructions could also be implemented.

  • 1975 and you can write basic? Too cool. I want one!

  • nice old school pc u have.

but i heard time traveler(john titor) need this 1 unit ancient pc ibm 5100 to bring back to 2036.sound ridiculous rite? -.-"

  • Do you want to sell this

  • Bro when does this come out?

  • Yeah but can you watch porn on it?

  • The real trick is making it do something interesting.

  • The 5100 was also capable of using the APL language, which is a lot more interesting than Basic. Somewhere aroud 1980/81/82 my school got one from IBM! No teacher knew what to do with it, but we, the nerds (I was a nerd before anyone knew the word!!) found out quickly!
