Thank you for that!!! Gosh... I looked everywhere and everyone was recommending to use the rectangle tool!! That was an easy and simple tutorial, very helpful!
was designing a tri-fold brochure in Indesign CS4. I put some blue text on the first leaf. On the second leaf I put a box and filled it with a darker blue blue, the moment I added the transparency to the box, the colour of the text on the first leaf also changed. I was stumped. then I tried working by creating two different layers. Still the problem persisted. will be grateful if you could help.
heya, i'm having a trouble now. I've changed by background colour. And i'm now trying to export to a PDF but the background colour isn't going with it. Can someone help me with this?
Ahhh thanks so much! I'm a total newbie with InDesign, who would have thought it was such a mission to find an understandable solution to such a basic task?! Again thanks, the only answers on google were either too vague or made it seem not worthwhile even trying. Haha. Thanks for making this video with us ID newbies in mind.
OK!!! Now I have a new challenge!! Can we have multiple background colors in the same document?

@SorcerrerOfTheNorth Before exporting, create a rectangle (fill in color) and place it at the bottom most layer.

Hei Kevin, the trick is to have a rectangle on every page and then fill it with differen color I.e., draw a rectangle on bottom most layer.
