  • nice tune

  • Unfortunately he is preaching to BP's minions...

  • This is one of my fav. teachers friends.....

Its sad :( but im glad this song raises awareness :)

  • This is one of my fav. teachers friends.....

  • yea..love it!!!! is it single????

  • yea..love it!!!!

  • we make our living with our own two hands. I work in the oilfield and let me tell you because of that nigger president we are starving down here. The oilfield is what sustains the south and all the gulf coast states. All those people who say Drew Landry is dumb or stupid, bullshit you people know nothing about us. Without us drilling all you mother fuckers won't be able to fill up your high dollar vehicles when the middle east shuts the valve on us.

  • Here are the lyrics -

    ma daaady bratawatta shrimpin boat

a little badda badda shrimpin boat

daddy and a mama and workin' in a boat old field hunting hammer and nails dum dum dum baseball hat rifle

  • 101 dead baby dolphins millions of various fish everyday more 1st human casulity today and not many are getting it

  • Meh, he's just trying to get a recording contract, screw this guy and his blue-collar folk tale bullshit

  • @metemi yep. fuck you.

  • kudos! well said and sung!

  • What is the point of this exactly?

  • @metemi fuck you

  • This song, "BP Blues" has been recorded and is available for purchase at Amazon and iTunes. Go buy it!!

  • nicely done, Mr. Landry.

  • such a awesome way to tell them through Music

    W2G Drew

  • Hey Drew,

I posted on my page, What a killer song. Spot on and soooooooo important for what's happening now. I'm up in NYC but I feel your pain. Take a listen to A Flock of One on Youtube.. Protest songs were once a way of making change. Hippies rock.

    Keep fighting. Cheers man

    Itinerant NYC.

  • His beliefs are great.. yes we do need to basically get people to work for 8-9 bucks an hour to help clean this up instead of payin someone 40 bucks an hour.

The only thing i dont like about the guy, is they are politicians... country music is a silver bullet to them... singing made them lose attention. You did get it back with the joke.. but they pitty laughed and clapped at the end. .. kudo's to the singer, but it just showed (specially since nothing happened yet) that they dont give a shit.

  • I don't know about you, but I am ready to hear more songs by Drew Landry. I did some Googling and see that he has a couple of great albums on iTunes. Get this song out for the masses to download, son.

  • Yeah U right.

  • Love ya Drew -keep the faith

  • Put this on Itunes! I'll bet it'll raise some money! Loved it and thank you!

  • Love this honest and soulful performance, so I'm making this a Sea Song of the Week on DailyBoater

  • This young man is RIGHT. Let the people most affected by this disaster help clean it up! Why should the big companies get the money for it? LET THEM TAKE CARE OF WHAT'S THEIRS!

  • This is really good. As a new Orleans resident, the relevance of music in Louisiana culture is so pervasive and special. I am sure that people with discouraging remarks have not been to Louisiana and should probably stay away. Cheers to Mr. Landry.

  • The only one on the commission who showed signs of life was Frances Beinecke (2nd from left). LOL.

  • Thanks Drew for expressing your experiences and wisdom in such an open and honest way. We hope, down here in Australia, that we never have to experience the kind of devastation that the oil spill has caused in the Gulf, and that if nothing else this spill is a massive wakeup call to make us all rethink about the way we play with oil.

  • @rabidusuniversum Drew Landry is a wonderful soul that cares about his state and the people affected by this tragedy. People around here appreciate such a unique person, regardless of what he's wearing or what kind of guitar he plays. His song is about our way of life and how it has been affected by this spill, nothing more... nothing less. Your ugly comment is RIDICULOUS (learn how to spell btw and get a life)

  • Always wonderful to hear our grass roots folks tell their stories through the power of Music. Drew Landry, ya got a good song and I hope someone helps you produce it and take it nation wide. Unfortunatly I fear you'll only be kicking Oil up outta that crawfish hole for... Well probably the rest of your life, your Sons life and his sons life. You can thank ObaMao, for not waving the "Jones Act" on Day 3...

  • the congresspeople look stoned and/or constipated...

  • @yogimcadam they all were hitting the pipe before the meeting

  • I have a new hero, speaking truth to the powerless!

  • NetParrot, you do realize that the only reason he was there was so that they could hear the song, right?

  • Hey you 12 that didn't like this do us all a favor, KILL YOURSELF!

This is a true American! I hope this song makes it nation wide!

  • Yeah, Dan, I actually do. We recently had a wrath of god type natural disaster up here, too. When the people affected by it met their leaders, we somehow resisted the urge to communicate with them via interpretive jazz dancing, children's drawings of god, or tepid acoustic guitar balladeering. You know, like boring adults who were hoping to accomplish something productive instead of merely drawing attention to ourselves.

  • @NetParrot

Obviously your disaster came and went. Let me guess a tornado?

Grab your big boy/girl panties and take a look at a real disaster.

  • @MissFishgirl Actually, it was record flooding, the same kind of flooding that the people in New Orleans were claiming was some sort of unique national tragedy back in 2005. We got over it just fine, even without making idiots of ourselves in front of a camera.

  • he's wearing a cardinal hat, this guy rocks

  • u go boy

  • Thumbs up for this guy getting a record deal while getting the committees attention

  • 3:11 it's really sad how few people are actually there...

  • DEY TUK'R JURRRRBS!

  • DEY DURKA DURRRR

  • @NoranPrease DEY TUURRRKKKR JEEEERBBBS!

  • He's talking about spending state money to clean up the spill = Bull S. = B.P. pay for thier mishaps, they are the 1s wrong here...

  • I see a record contract in this man's future.

    I'm digging what he's saying.

  • he seems like an approachable, good human. :)

  • of course government isn't gonna do anything. US actually owns 39% of BP, the British own the other 40% and the rest by a few Russian Billionaires. so with that 39% Obama doesn't wanna ruffle the feathers of his rich buddies.

  • @wtblay i wouldn't say getting 20 billion is doing nothing

  • WAKE UP!

Not one dime has been spent, and it comes with strings.

  • @MissFishgirl you're a string

  • Bless your bleeding heart, Drew Landry

  • Truth only hurts the people defending lies.

  • @Guitarnazis learn to spell

  • @Guitarnazis

    You hate clean water?

  • This is incredible.

  • NetParrot, you just don't get it..........

  • @NetParrot

    you were not there obviously

  • Being a lifelong native from Lafayette, I really appreaciate your song! Make it the State's Anthem! I am a 58 year old, who can remember going to Grand Isle each summer, brought my children every year. Even made a couple of Mardi Gras there too. You speak so well for our state and our great culture.

  • Thiis is the type of person on which our country was built. Sometimes I feel like we're facing the British all over again, and I nominate this guy to be Samuel Adams of today.

  • When a bard sings the people will listen!

  • The only thing the president knows how to do is point his finger of blame and appoint study committees/commissions! He probably has never even fixed a leaky faucet in his life!

He should have been out there working TOGETHER with BP during this disaster instead of blaming and threatening to sue. The American government goes ALL OVER THE WORLD helping other countries with their disasters...yet this administration has done nothing but sit on their duffs for far too long during our own disaster!

  • @298fmr

I really don't think it's inappropriate to criticise BP for its wantonly, reckless behavior. They disregarded their own engineers regarding the safest method to drill the well and have a history of safety violations. Isn't the Republican motto, Don't regulate business they have all the answers.

  • AND WHEN SOMEBODY FINALLY SPEAKS UP, YOU TRY TO UNDERMINE WHAT HE IS DOING! What are you doing? What have you done?

  • Reading through the comments, it baffles me, that people would criticize Landry for speaking up. This is what this country need more of.

Why are we fighting each other? Americans on both sides, "left" and "right", want things in common. Jobs, oil-less oceans, healthcare for everybody (not just for the rich), education for everybody (not just for the rich), etc, etc.

But instead, we attack the "other side", or we don't do anything and complain about the current administration...

  • @MsLeftLeaner don't blame me, I didn't vote for Obama or McCain. If anything, Obama voters are the reason we're in this shape. U can't argue me on this, what bush policy lead to this mess? What was the unemployment rate when he left office? What was bush's largest defecit? It's all eclipsed by obama's piss poor policies, not designed to grow anything other than the federal government and public sectors where economic growth and prosperity DO NOT happen!

  • makes me proud to say i live in new orleans

  • I chuckled when I saw the empty seat

  • Crap, you must adore Sarah Palin.

  • Drew Landry has been on the frontlines of the oil spill since day one reporting from his blog.. He is also an accomplished songwriter. You can download his albums from iTunes. He's a smart man who knows the power of his music.

  • If only there were some way we could plug the spill with the broken remnants of his guitar.

  • HOO-EEE!! He done stone cold busted out his geetar! Hot dang!

  • The rediculous people say, give him a record deal. For what? Having a little courage? I know musicians that are so damn good they will make you cry and they will never see a record deal. I think the comment is rediculous.

  • @megadrummer2 b/c he is something from somewhere in a world of lindsey lohans he is more than somebody he is hope.

  • @MissFishgirl Sorry you dont understand my point. But I'm pretty sure the country knows the effects of those who sit around and HOPE for something good. Mr. landry is a true American that cares as we do. But hope will get you nowhere as we have witnessed. I HOPE my children will survive the future after this incompetent evil administration, dont you?

  • @megadrummer2 You aren't here obviously. Drew has been very effective. Don't be a hater.

  • @MissFishgirl - Points taken, i'm sure his music is good and he's a good guy. I think my disgust lyes in the fact that Obamo needs a commission to figure out that theres a problem. Can anyone be more incompetent? Thanks for the talk but I hate noone.

  • The Boss would be hard pressed to do better. Bruce Springsteen take a seat.

  • if only the world had more people like that guy.

  • Wow that was amazing!

  • I'm glad I subscribed to you :D Btw I just watched this.. /watch?v=_fbg_3sK2ys ..it shows how to hack your farmville money check it =D

  • again. not a hero.

  • @lanausee do u live here?

  • @MissFishgirl yes.

  • @lanausee

Thank you for still caring and listening.

  • That was pretty damn good.

  • That's an American

  • @irishacea5 i know shocking rite!

  • He represents what America is about, showed the politicians what he is made of..

  • @Scrubs2U Such a poor view of what American is about.

  • hard men, doing hard shit

  • hard men, doing hard shit

  • who is this guy hes good!!!!

  • Drew, you shine like a light so bright and warm through clouds so dark and cold. Thank you. People, listen up because this is what it is really all about. Shine on...

  • diggin the cards hat

  • @MrColter51 That's the only reason I clicked this video.

  • lmao wtf

  • this guy used this as american idol pretty much

  • Wow :)

  • Lol such a conference that let a fucking retard sings ahhahah... oh wait, it's America. Not surprised lol

  • what kind of wierdo brings a guitar to a meeting like this? They dont give a shit what this guy has to say. They dont give a shit what the country needs. Our so called president dont give a shit about anything at all. He gets his money no matter what happens and its served to him by a servant. The so called criminals we call government dont give a shit about any of us and that has been made cristal clear. There will be a scam behind this hide and watch. Dont doubt Haliberton is the contractor.

  • Drew said an awful lot with that song. I surely hope we can finally begin to understand the madness behind our oil addiction.

  • Messengerfinder . com

  • okey....hmm

  • this guy deff wrote a 911 song haha

  • @cursiver

yes, b/c 911 is really funny

  • this is real american music, music that has meaning and with a guitar, not a song about getting laid or doing drugs with some computerized beat

  • GOD DAMN HIPPIES

  • Way to waste singing time when people are trying to solve a problem.

  • @TaBestRadioShow

Are you here? I have been on the front lines for 90 days. Yes, he did make a difference ...more than you.

  • This is completely inappropriate! Why is this even posted here? I feel so embarassed for this guy. Is he trying to get his 15 minutes of fame or get discovered? Take your terrible singing and mediocre guitar music to a gameshow. This meeting looks like an official conference, not a place to sing or even talk about kicking mud and fishing. It's rediculous.

  • @rabidusuniversum at least he cares more than those politicians

  • @ItzDaTwiGGajD - True, we all care more about this than those so called officials.

  • @rabidusuniversum shut the fuck up you piece of shit. its people like you thats fucked this country up. if dont have anything nice to say then dont say shit.

  • @rabidusuniversum Lighten up! Jeez...

  • @rabidusuniversum You are fucking ridiculous.

  • @rabidusuniversum

Are you here? Who are you? B/C I am on the front lines. This did make a small differnce. Until you are here on the front lines you don't know shit.

  • @TaBestRadioShow I agree with you 100%

  • Comment removed

  • America can go fuck itself. They've ruined a whole lot of stuff in this world with their multi national companies. I just want this to end. Turn off your power supply America. And to all those good people in America who are hard workers. Come move to Europe. There's a place for you outside your sick country.

  • @Fingerpin91 LOLOLOLOLOL, I'd rather die than live in Europe, my ancestors left Europe for a reason.

  • @Fingerpin91= Hey, I don't insult your country. So don't start passing judgement on America. There's something wrong with every nation on the planet.

  • @vigo89 Yeah but America takes the grant prize.

  • their culture is the worst.

  • @salsafor and why is obama president

  • SOMEBODY GIVE THIS GUY A RECORD DEAL

  • the kid in this video is named: AJ Moghaddam from the University of St. Thomas, he went to Breck School for High School. Feel free you add him as a friend on facebook. His actual cell phone number is 651-246-9905.

  • I thought this was fake for the first 3 minutes. That is totally awesome. This is the best redneck I've seen in media, better than "gitter done" guy and "you might be a redneck if" guy. The new "joe the plumber" but actually awesome instead.

  • sorry, but how the hell is drew landry a hero just because he wrote a contrived song about the BP oil spill. ridiculous.

  • yup

  • i hate America!! hope all the politicians get their well deserved time in hell!!

  • @azterus54 Not sure that's a reason to hate America. Hate the politicians!

  • Put this guy in charge!

  • lol not a welfare state? but he brings a guitar and expects to make some headway with a congress man.

    lmao, rednecks.

  • @erick1691 your a hating piece of shit gtfo

  • @erick1691 are you seriously gonna sit there and down this guy for standing up and doing something...anything....to try and get some attention on this issue. You also pick at him for being a redneck and talking about welfare...even if someone down there...or a "redneck" is on welfare dont you notice the big sweat stain band on his hat? At least he works hard trying to make it....look at how many people sit on their asses and collect welfare and don't lift a finger to even try to get a job.

  • @erick1691

I was there and I have been on the front lines for 80+ days. It did make a small difference which is more than what you did.

  • AWESOME !!!!! WAY TO GO, TELL IT LIKE IT IS. THE SONG GAVE ME CHILLS !!!

    YOU NEED TO RECORD THIS

  • dude. st. louis cardinal's hat. you're awesome.

  • This song I hope brought these politicians down to earth. Great song.

  • I'm sorry but am I the only one that, if I were the congressman, I'd be thinking "dude wtf we're trying to discuss plans about how to approach this issue. Why the FUCK did you bring your guitar??"

  • @Longknife I was there...it worked. I have been on the front lines the whole time and this was one of the only dog and pony shows that made a difference thanks to people like drew.

  • Curious?

    ∩xMXΛ8nʌʞnΛ=ʌ¿ɥɔʇɐʍ/ɯoɔ˙ǝqnʇnoʎ˙ʍʍʍ//:dʇʇɥ

    (Flip it)

  • Wonder if he hangs with Joe the Plumber...

  • @Sirchud68 Please don't make this about politics. You and your people are killing us. It doesn't matter what party you are we just need help.

  • @MissFishgirl It was a joke done in poor taste. I know Drew, his heart is in the right place. My apologies.

  • Mr. Landry, you are a straight-shooting, talented guy! I hope this video goes viral and you get all sorts of attention!

  • love it and his passion. Does anyone else think he looks like Nick Lachey though? Kinda.

  • That gave me intense chills!

  • I hope they heard you..I did.I say prayers everyday for the Gulf, animals ,sea life and peopl.e in The Gulf.God Bless you Louisiana.

  • Look at all these suit and ties, just looking they don't know how to use their hands...

    do not trust these clowns.

I give mad props to this man

stop voting forpeople with an R and a D next to their name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is GREAT!!! Give this guy a record contract and let's buy millions of his CD's and help him make tons of money because we know we could trust him to spend in helping his people. You GO Mr. Landry!!!!

  • Impressive. I hope the commission will pay heed.

  • The Federal Govt. has been in the way since day 1.

I apologize if I've ever called for federal assistance in this mess, it's obvious that the only entity the US gov. cares to help is BP.

  • This was amazing.

  • finally someone who's got it all together.

  • a commission of eggheads with no experience in disaster management, or any other management experience. this is a show put on by the white house, nothing's getting accomplished with these hacks.

  • nice guy

  • could you all please share this with your friends

  • This was strong! I hope your government can grow up to it.

  • It's a shame that Obama can basically butt-F%C* our own citizens and nobody even realizes it.

  • @BarakTheLiar1 So now the Oil Spill is Obama's fault?
