Silva's record speaks for itself - he's absolutely decimated nearly everybody he's fought & finished them in amazing fashion. He's FINISHED every wrestler he's ever fought - including Sonnen. So 1 or 2 percieved lackluster fights don't mean shit. He's broken & made more records in the UFC than anybody ever has & he's set the bar so high that I don't see anybody being able to surpass what he's accomplished. Silva is a counter striker - he was waiting for Maia to engage, which he never did. Reguardless of no KO - the fight was still more entertaining than any of Sonnen's fights - but the way the fight went down was just as much, if not more Maia's fault than Silva's. GSP is a great fighter but we don't expect nearly the same fights from him as we do from Silva. I lost almost every bit of respect I had for him after watching this clusterfuck of a fight. When people pay for a fight they dont want to watch a bunch of showing off. Too many more fights like this would destroy the UFC. I know I wouldnt waste my money and time watching it if every fight was that boring.

Is he a better fighter, hell no. He's just so powerful and big Anderson's skill wouldn't mean anything.
Anderson is a massive 185 fighter. He could easily fight as a very small heavyweight (Randy Couture) or as an average size LHW (Shogun or Machida)
GSP walks around at 180 between fights, he's a small welterweight, he's bulking up but he's small. Anderson is easily the biggest middleweight in the division.

Shogun is a small to average LHW. Forrest is a massive LHW, Bonnar is a massive LHW Jon Jones, Rampage are massive.
GSP cuts 15 pounds to make 170.
Anderson silva cuts from 220 to make 185
On fight day, GSP would walk into the ring at the same weight he weighed in at. Silva would walk in at at least 210.

@rrtodd95 Ansreson does NOT cut from 220. He may get up to that much between fights, but while in shape he definately does not. Anderson and GSP literally cut the same % of weight, this is a fact. So if Anderson is a small HW, then GSP is a small LHW.

GSP walks around at 185 right now between fights and he's packed with muscle, his natural weight is well below being able to compete against Andersons natural size advantage.

GSP is a shit, Anderson Silva has fought against opponents of superior category, already challenged GSP to gain a little weight he would lose a little you have balance, Dana White has said that it is possible and GSP ALWAYS runs away from the idea of such a confrontation. Afraid to take a massacre and lose prestige.
UFC has no opponent for Anderson Silva because he is more marketing than a serious championship and that's why Anderson was angry about Dana, hires not good fighters, just popular.

Give him two more fights and he'll be ready to go, with a couple more years under his belt Bones will become a much more loved and respected fighter than Anderson is. If Silva is really that great he should move to light heavyweight.Both him and GSP wiped their whole divsions but GSP is moving to middleweight after the Shields fight.Silva already beat former light heavyweight champions Griffin and Belfort.The light heavyweight divison is the most packed of all:Jones,Rampage,Evans,Machida,Shogun,Bader,Griffin and list goes on and on.If GSP can move up why cant Silva.They are both the 2 best P4P guys.
