  • Why 1200w when you only need 850w?

  • @944jk a few reasons:

    1. overclocking - I OC'd my CPU and GPU now (didn't have time to do it when this video was made), and when I bought the PSU I had OCing in mind

    2. PSUs degrade over time. There are calculators out there to figure it out, but you do lose maximum output ability every year. I wanted this one to last me through medical school because I have no time to build new computer if this one goes, and price difference was minimal (I think it was $50 more at the time)

  • Also, the 1200w has lots of room if I decide to ever drop a 3rd card in there or add PCI devices, extra fans, etc. thermaltake also at the time had much better cable management in their toughpower 1200w than their under 1000w models. Overall price difference was minimal, and my apartment at least while I'm in school the next few years has no utilities so my elecric is free :D lol

  • I want the name of this fucking epic song ! :p

  • @fxman43 name is in the description, song is Arise by E.S. Posthumus (if you like this check out the rest of their stuff, also other similar bands like X-Ray dog)

  • lol 1 gtx 560 ti soc can get those fps rates

  • im getting laggy playing in high with a gtx 480 1500mb and a intel 950 3.07 ghz

Can someone tell me what im i doing wrong?

And how do i put tat fps thingy in the game ;) kind of noob

    thanks

  • im getting laggy playing in high with a gtx 480 1500mb and a intel i7 950 3.07 ghz

Can someone tell me what im i doing wrong?

And how do i put that fps thing in the game im kind of a noob;)

  • @bioshock2k your CPU can handle up to 4 of those GTX 480;s so ur CPU is fine and not bottlenecking

So you need 2 of those cards for good performance lag is normal on 1 card because its still too slow for some games

  • This makes me want to stretch for a GTX 570

  • @geforce5591 gtx 480 is more powerful just that the gtx 570 is cooler and quiter :D

  • chi compra nvidia non si pente mai!!! i love nvidia

  • 0i dont no how but im getting all most the same fps as you with only a single gtx470 on max settings

  • @techdudz probaly the settings are different

  • how hot does this thing run?

  • I should get another GTX 470 for my rig

  • Cpu Limited..

  • @GiulioM2oFan uhhhhh no.....

fraps kills the framerate this game is entirely GPU limited.

go to tomshardware and look at the scaling. after 2.6ghz i7 this game has no increase in framerate

I have proof of this too, I oc'd a few months ago to 3.6ghz, no difference in framerate, this game is 100% GPU limited after 2.6ghz quad core.

  • u should have waited for GTX 580... it MUCH better than the 480 i tried both

  • @ssorangetomato uhh no its not lol you're imagining things it only has a 20% increase, for over $100 more. not really a great deal for 5 more fps

  • get a life dude!

  • @MenthX i'm a medical student at a top U.S. medical school, obviously I don't have a life : P

  • ROFLMAO. This is the cheesiest pice of shit i have ever seen.

  • Whats the point of running a 3-way SLI of GTX480 on a 2008/6 game that can only reach 50-60 fpx max

Crysis 2 on the other hand.

  • @PCGamer21stCentury who is running 3 way sli? I'm not...

  • @PCGamer21stCentury i think crysis 2 is goin to suck because its going to be on the consoles and thats what the pc players are going to be stuck with...

  • @fuge805 I'm worried about that too :(

  • @TheLostGuitarist if u wanna get it id say to wait a while after it comes out read some reviews and watch some multiplayer gameplay

  • @fuge805 yea i'll probably preorder, wait for reviews before opening it or something (just so I at least get preorder bonus if it does turn out to be good). hopefully it isn't just a giant COD/Halo ripoff.

Crytek has never disappointed me yet (far cry 1 and 2 were brilliant and crysis well...we know crysis was a revolution in graphics). so i'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now, probably plunk down my money in a month and then wait and see

  • @TheLostGuitarist if it does turn out good ill need no upgrade my system

    nvidia 220 OCed 2 gb ddr2 intel 2180 2.0ghz

thats not even going to play on 800x600 at lowest settings

  • @fuge805 ouch lol

u could put together an i7 920 and oc that to like 3.6ghz, get a mid level nvidia 400 series for $150-200 if you wait for a sale, 6gb RAM and a basic gaming motherboard may be a bit costly

and you need a mega psu nowadays

but you could keep it conceivably under like $700 if you really tried

  • @TheLostGuitarist yeah im too young to get a job still the only reason i started playing pc becuase of Combat Arms its lots of fun and with the card i have i can play 1280x720 with 30 to 70 fps on max settings 2 AA and 0 AF

but i was planning on these specs soon

I5 series motherboard with at least 2,9 ghz

    4 gb ddr3

    air cooled

    1 5 gb hard drive

    1 500 tb drive

nvidia 570 (then i may overclock)

    650 psu

im thinking by june the prices will fall at least 50 bucks for each so im thinking 1500

  • @TheLostGuitarist but to be honest i dont need to play a cent i can play on max settings at 1920x1080res with 32AA and 32AF and i only use 20 watts i use my BRAIN!

  • EPIC !!!!!

  • ha nice intro i guss and sorry to ruin your i guss high moment to be finally able to play crysis but crysis 2 is coming out soon...we stand no chance yet again

  • @IvIast3er actually i did almost shit my pants when I found out crysis 2 was coming, I thought we were once again doomed, but crysis 2 is supposedly running on lower specs than crysis. It was optimized like crazy after all the crysis complaints (crysis warhead was really the more optimized crysis game, it showed how much a difference that can make). IGN got their hands on it already and they say it runs perfect and there's still MONTHS until release so i have high hopes

  • @TheLostGuitarist that is true from what i hear, all ik is that its gonna have better graphics but run better than crysis, and the story line dosent make sense anymore lol, at the end of crysis 1 you go back to fight them off, and warhead was like the other side of the story i think, haven't played in 4 ever, and crysis 2 is in New York, i could be wrong and warhead was you going bacj in and fighting them off

  • @IvIast3er crysis 2 is a reboot because all the console people wouldn't have played the 1st ones

so the scrapped the whole story and started somewhat fresh

  • @TheLostGuitarist i guess that makes sense lol

  • I picked out this graphics card for the system I am going to build. I'm glad people are saying such good things about it.

  • hey what are the temperatues and the Power

  • @sasfox547 too hot and to much =)

no but on a good ventilated case they will rune like 70-80 c max

and psu useage idk im thinking in the 1000w range for a i7 with sli 480

  • People are always complaining about money :P.. BUT when you got 2 of these cards you can always sell them on time and for that money buy 1 much faster card in the future!

thats how you should play the game to keep low value high end gaming possible ^^ overclocking nd shit is the trick

BTW 3.7ghz i7 or i5 quad is enough to handle GTX480 in SLI on max resos without bottlenecks that was tested :)

  • INDEED!!! 1gtx 480 is useless since all extremely GPU demanding games are running like shit !! I got one myself and at 4ghz i5.. and i hit 30/35 fps on metro 2033 and crysis on heavy moments which i consider as most important while gaming

Im adding soon another GTX 480 than i finally can feel the 60fps rate in all games :)

so indeed its so fucking tru SLI is a must have..

  • hhmmm im thinking if your gtx 480 runs @ around 90c while gaming. will that gpu last for at least morethan 1 year?

  • @JeromeRyan88 yes, it was designed to run hot

however, I buy all video cards with lifetime warranties. For example, EVGA gives a free lifetime warranty on any card as long as your register within the 1st 30 days of purchase.

I bought my old 8800's from them, when they crapped out 2 years later they had no more in stock so they upgraded me to the 260's which were slightly better.

both 480's are EVGA so if one does go, free warranty (and they have fast turnaround!)

  • @JeromeRyan88

90 degrees wil last 7 years probably 105 probably 3

  • name of the music please!!!!

  • @josedekcr read the description?

  • EPIC... JUST EPIC

  • ITS A VERY GOOD GRAPHIC CARD BUT I WAITING FOR THE NEW KEPLERS .

    good video man

  • POV of a year, Nice vid

  • wow insane u can get 52 fps for crysis. are those at 1920 resolution or 2560? and some crazy question, are u planning to get ur third gtx 480? lol that would really put even metro 2033 to shame

  • this is ridiculous

  • i swear, crysis was made to sell graphics cards lol.

  • one gtx 480 can run this game fast :YOU HAVE TWO!!!!!! good video men

  • i got that card to, and voltage overclcoked kicks asses!

omg even batlefied bad 2 1920x1200 dx11 32X AA CANT RESILT

and crysis 1920x1200 very high AA16XQ!

  • i just decided to buy 480 sli.

  • nice vid i have them also in sli and dammit what a preformance

i selled my big ati 5970 for 1 gtx 480 never regretted that the 480 is so much better no single driver prob

ati always driver problems and cant handle extreme tessteselation

like example dx 11 stone giant and dx 11 heaven gtx 480 willbeat the 5970 whoee

now i have sli the 480's and the 5970 isnt even close to that preformance

nvidia more stable frames without dips and wat u think of physx whooo i love it nvidia way better

  • @mrkilla5091 yea the 480's kill in tesselation. I hope they take advantage of that in crysis 2. Nvidia's showed that water can be made realistically using tesselation without killing performance like the crysis water did

  • @mrkilla5091 better try the sapphire toxic hd 5970 4GB crossfire

  • @mrkilla5091 Thats whi ATI sucks! Because they cant make drivers

  • CRAZY fps

  • overclock the cpu and the 480's and get the extreme quality mod from cyberalien! then make a gameplay video that would be cool. OR some people have liked the natural mod better but extreme quality mod has most people amazed.

  • overclock the cpu and the 480's and get the extreme quality mod from cyberalien! then make a gameplay video that would be cool.

  • It's really cool to see someone actually PLAY this game rather than run the stupid benchmark thing. Lets you see what the game's like to play rather than just how good the graphics are.

  • hey this might be a noob question but i really need to know the answer (quick plz)

i have gtx 260 right now , so if i buy gtx 460 can i put them in SLI, or does it have to be the same cards?

  • @djBC10000 no, you can not put them in SLI.

However, some motherboards let you use one card as a graphics card and the other as a physx card. You'd have to look up if yours can do that.

SLI requires 2 of the exact same card to work. So the best you could do with those two is use the 460 as a primary graphics card, and have the 260 be a designated physx card

  • @djBC10000 yes needs to be the same cards 2 460s 2 470 75s 80s all then same

  • you should overclock your cpu

  • why not sli 5970 ? because I see that you are willing to pay alot for your pc. And does this card have heat problems ? and nice vid

  • @poepsunom

    1. Why not 5970?

    - 2 reasons, first, the benchmarks have spoken. the SLI 480's not only perform better than the 5970, but the SLI is also more useful for the nvidia cards, as the 480's have almost 100% scaling, the best SLI scaling YET, compared to the lower crossfire scaling of ATI (seems to be around 50% to 60% increase in fps tops for crossfire). The Nvidia cards, while more expensive, are outperforming and outscaling (in SLI of course) the ATI cards in most games now.

  • @poepsunom as for the heat problems: yes and no.

by yes, I mean these cards do get hot, at peak they are over 90 degrees Celsius sometimes which is quite ridiculous

by no, I mean it hasn't affected the cards' performance OR my case temps, since the heatsink apparatus pushes the air straight out, it is never in contact with the case air. So while my room may get a bit hotter (its in a BIG room though so I never notice), the case temps never suffer

    and thanks :)

  • @TheLostGuitarist is that 90c stock or overclocked?

  • @muttboy34 stock lol

  • Lol I love the video

    I got 2 gtx 460s for SLI

they work great check it out!

  • good

  • wow that really gave me goose bumps...

btw. didn't know you can hit the aliens after you grapped them^^

  • is normal with my 275 gtx playing crysis with high detail 1440x900 no AA added to 85 degrees after 25 minutes of play. 40% fan factory. no occ. and normal?

  • my rigs comin in august. same i7 930+gtx 480 sli and 6gb ddr3 1600 just like u bro, savin teh world from crysis!

  • What is the name of the music please?

  • @SuperAzproductions

    Song: Arise

    Artist: E.S. Posthumus

  • the music excellent, the video awesome! :) cool dude

  • Such an epic, video, soundtrack and car :)

  • Lol gl maxing out metro 2033 =P

  • @kop4321 I did actually....solid 60fps with the latest drivers :) I'm going to post new vids showing the fps (new drivers out june 29 for nvidia 400 series)

  • @kop4321 dude a single 480 can practically max it out. were you being sarcastic or are u sadly unaware of the fact that sli scaling is nearly perfect?

  • And here I was thinking NVidia Geforce 250 GTS Sli would be awesome......

  • @AltomineUK dream big my friend, dream big

  • What cooling system do you use? Those two cards must get extremely hot.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheFlameFox

    1. hd5850 does not = gtx 480, in fact the 480 destroys it in every benchmark (check tomshardware)

    2. ATI cards underperform in 90% of games due to the fact that NVIDIA works with more game developers.

if you have the $, the 480 SLI also has over 85% scaling compared to the poor scaling of crossfire.

the facts are there, most ATI users will readily admit if they had the money they'd buy NVIDIA (I was an ATI user till I had more cash myself).

check the benchmarks if you don't

  • @TheLostGuitarist

yeah, I admit that nvidia cards are better and sli is better than crossfire but they are still heavily overpriced (btw sorry about double post, my iphone does that sometimes)

  • @TheFlameFox believe it, tomshardware has a lot.

  • most sli kids dont have girlfriends why because they spent all there money on a pc!

  • @4g63gen1

If they have the money to run SLI, then you can probably bet they have money for girlfriends.

  • I am not getting a new card till one can run crysis 2 on max settings at 60+FPS

  • @botchman69 you do realize cevat yerli already said that crysis 2 will require lower specs than crysis because it's so optimized. I guarantee the GTX 480's will run crysis 2 at 60fps....

crysis was the most unoptimized. crysis warhead I get about 10fps more than crysis and the graphics look better. crysis 2 looks better than both of those and is even more optimized and will use even less graphics card horsepower

optimization makes a HUGE difference in GPU bound games (which crysis is)

  • @TheLostGuitarist I have 2x285's so I will wait till the next series comes out.

  • @TheLostGuitarist sick pc mate ive got a 1 gtx 480 but its with a q6600 lol and 780i mobo getting cpu, mobo n ram soon just need more money :D if only work paid more :)

  • @TheLostGuitarist

Why would you get a 480 SLI over a 5970?

They cost so much more for such a little performance gain...

  • @mezzadakiller so little performance gain? obviously you haven't looked at any benchmarks. ATI cards are crap. many games just flat out don't run on them. Crysis has a HUGE performance gap between equivalent ATI and NVIDIA cards, as does metro 2033, just cause 2, battlefield bad company 2. We're talkin more than 15-20fps difference sometimes.

go to tomshardware and look at benchmarks with latest nvidia drivers. ATI got owned this generation

  • @TheLostGuitarist

Also, are you using the Real lifesis mod? You should be...

  • @mezzadakiller and no reallifesis mod isn't that great, it makes night time too dark and really just changes lighting effects. I uninstalled it almost immediately after putting it on, it didn't really make anything look better IMO

  • @botchman69 me too

  • wicked vid mate i reli enjoyed it ;D im saving for new pc need 3.5 grand -_- but im skint atm and only get 1100 a month .. GAY looks like ima have to no life overtime to afford a pro rig like this :D

  • I can't play this game @ 60FPS its to fast im used to 30

  • Badass video. Got freezes at the end "GTX 480, SLI" :P

Good stuff you got there mate, I'll stick to my 5870 ;)

  • over-clock your ram and cpu!!! i got my i7 975 to 4.4 water cooled, and ocz 12gb gold to 1600. huge increase in performance. the gpu could be over-clocked to

  • @floridabowhunter I did overclock my CPU. Overclocking RAM however is worthless and is more likely to damage your RAM than provide you with performance increase.

My CPU is 3.6ghz and most games are GPU limited. I've yet to come across a game with CPU scaling beyond 3.0ghz.

Unless you are 3D rendering or something you're just shortening the life of your parts for nothing by OCing that much

  • epic cards and awesome video!

  • Your specs are awesome... :)

  • @MinicFilip haha thanks. Unfortunately now my wallet is not awesome

  • hehe nice :P btw what song did you use?

  • @LilKris00 haha thanks, sorry forgot to put song in description

    "Arise"

    By: E.S. Posthumus

  • Ha ha cool video. You have a very big imagination like me.
