I just had surgery last thursday, and i cldn't feel more lost and frustrated right now... you were talking about vitamines, and my question is: are we able to take pills/capsules after a certain amount of time??? cz i thought we cld never take pills again... that everything had to be in liquid or chewable form.... and i hate chewables..yuck!.. please comment.. thanks..

Thank you! I am still 8 weeks out from surgery and they gave me the BA losenges to try and get used to.  I have to say...they They are AWFUL! I gag when I take them and chew. I am worried about what to do. I have the berry flavor...Maybe the chocolate are better. I wonder if there is another option. I took notes though and I will discuss your supplements with my dietician in 2 wks! Can you take pills though? I would rather swallow a pill than chew those horse pill BA things. Thanks!

Oooo...I HATED the berry ones. If you want, I'll send you a couple of the chocolate ones to try...they're not horrible. Just drop me a PM with your address (and remind me what I'm sending...lol) and I'll send you a little sample to try. No pills until month five on all the other stuff. I used a liquid vitamin and Flintstone chewables up to then. :)

Are your kidney issues related to RNY surgery?

Yes and no. I had a kidney condition prior to the gastric bypass that no one knew about. We only found out when I was able to take a handful of pills anymore to kill the pain (which I thought were cysts on my ovaries way back when). Turns out that gastric bypass patients can be prone to kidney stones. Basically if you had them before, it's likely you'll get them again. Lucky me! Hence why I was in the hospital last week, but good thing they hurt because I also had a kidney infection. :)

Taunia I think its so great that you post these videos. It gives people considering WLS an inside, REAL view of what to expect and you are so awesome and brave for broadcasting all of it. Hey Taunia,  About the Zinc, of course your doc said to take it which is good, especially for healing wounds. I have a prob with Ulcers so I take it on and off. But I use to take it constantly and found out it was bad for yout to do it on a regular. Doc advized me to take the Zinc for two weeks and stay off for two and back on, so on.. Only because we all know, too much of one thing isn't always good for you. Just a suggestion or a tip.

That's good info, thank you for that. Probably good for anyone to check about that to see if it clashes with what their dietician says. Maybe wls are more sensitive to it? My dietician didn't say anything, but I haven't taken it anyways and I've been fine. Thanks for the info, though!

Hey Taunia...if youre interested in extra omega stuff or dont feel like taking the coromega theres this stuff called udo's oil you can put it in shakes..my weight lifting buddy told me about it.. i'm gonna do a lil video about it later thought i'd pass on the word. i'm definately gonna try everything i can to keep my hair

My iron is included in the multivitamin. I don't have to take extra iron other than that, thankfully. I know lots of folks do, but I don't. :)
