I was sitting out behind the little restaurant where he was playing having a smoke(all lonely) having gotten there a couple hours early by accident. I Think he´s playing a harp in the key of A. He plays cross, so the Band plays one quart down in E. I tried to play his licks with an A-Harp and it worked really well. Check out his version of Blind Willie Jonsons "God moves on the Water" Its awesome!
