@dOrIcHa82507 It's not just in the movies, this really happened (or happens?) in asia, mostly in villages. The parents want boys, so they could do heavy work and help with farming. The girls are either drowned at birth, sold or abandoned in the towns.
wow i can't believe people were just selling off their kids or just giving them away... especially the daughters... sad
