  • wow amazing zoom! Did you also use digital zoom or just the optical?

Im thinking about buying a new cam (I have the Olympus SP 560 uz).. I tend to get the Panasonix lumix fz 35/38.. but still not sure. Need a good compact cam (at least 18X opt. zoom) with audio video function. I bet u can recommend your one right..?:)

  • If I put this play 1280x720 video from the camera and connects to video rca plasma can see?, Or must I buy the HDMI to view on my TV 16 9? Greetings and thanks in advance excuse my poor English.

  • your video is excellent quality, you could help me with these 5 questions

    1 that software use

2 which codec you used to format and upload it to youtube.

    3 li gave color

4 to record you can contol the light or just to edit

5 on the night so well see.

Excuse my English, I am using a translator to `be able to communicate, you give the answer in English, te lo agradeceria mucho, saludos and thank you very much.

  • great quality

  • yes it's on. I've noticed that image stabilization works well within minimum range to 20X (digital zoom) but gets a bit sensitive when using the optical zoom from 20X to it's maximum of 80X. The farther it gets, the more sensitive it would become.

  • Its 20x optical zoom first and then digital zoom. Digital zoom just stretches smaller piece of a image to fit the screen so it makes the image blurry.

  • @edpannewyork after 20x zoom it's nolonger optical zoom, it's rather shitty digital zoom, which basically doesn't work at all, and I don't see a point in including it with any camera (camcorder) :)

  • How long do the batteries last when filming in HD?

  • with NiMHD batteries will give you about 620 photo shots and 14 hours of continous video recordng, with Alkaline batteries will give about 350 photo shots and 12 hours continous video recording.

  • thanks...I wish to know about the picture quality . Is it on par with SX10 at least ?

Can you test the burst mode ? Its only 1 fps ?

I can use the manual focus when recording with my Canon S5 . Thats possible too with SX20 ?

Can I record movies using Color Accent scene mode like Canon S5 ? Thanks

  • picture quality of it are great... it actually exceeded beyond my expectations. I will try posting sample of it's still images soon for you to see. Yes, you can change it's lighting effects to different options while on HD video mode. tried it's burst mode. That sounds it, it gives about 1fps.

  • I think he used the digital zoom as the video is sometimes so shaky. Plus, I think he did not use the wind filter properly too...

  • Yes, I didn't actually used the wind filter at that time as I'm still learning about it lol... I actually stretched it's zoom up to the maximum optical range of 80X that makes it bit unsteady but it is very steady and not so sensitive with slight hand movement from the minimum range up to 20X. It's great camera though...

  • Thanx. I just notice that at max zoom the video gets washed. Have you used both optical and digital?. And I hate the wind noise but all cameras seems to do the same. Cheers

  • I didn't find any image distortions up to the maximum digital range of 20X but only comes a bit unsteady focusing in using it's optical zoom from 20X to it's maximum of 80X. I didn't find the camera being noisy after activating it's anti noise option. It just happened that I didn't get that option activated while taking this video.
