I am so glad that I was alive during those wonderful years. This music brings back a time when you could leave your doors unlocked to your house and cars. When you could play out side and not worry about drive by shoots and people wanting to hurt children. A time when church was part of your social life. A time when you ate from food cooked from scratch. Watching a movie and television was safe for every one in the family.
@lincoln68508 Oh my goodness...I know you're right!! Those were the good old days, and sadly we will never see those days again...all we have now is memories.
This is such a wonderful song. Little Anthony has such a unique style. Never get tired of hearing it. MANY thanks for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" with us! You've MADE my day & my week! :)
I second that emotion! A listener could understand the lyrics back then & hum along with great melodies. And the songs were mostly about love, peace, having innocent fun & other positive things. Being able to listen to stuff like this delightful "blast from the past" makes the holiday season sweeter! :)
It's because music has become a commodity NOT an art form. The truly great songs of the past took time to create and song writing was a craft. The end product truly mattered and talent was essential. That is why songs like this are called STANDARDS. You will hear these songs 80 years from now because of that.
@jdukulele : Un-huh. There never was a production line churning out hits for whichever anonymous crooner/teenybop star the record company wheeled in behind the mike? I have a bridge for sale, BTW, very low miles...
Sorry, the music's breathtaking but some of the naivety is breathtaking too, as are the rose-tints. Popular Music always been the most debased art form there is, a cheap, shiny, depthless & disposable uniquely American art form; its greatest drawbacks & its greatest strengths.
Yeah music like this is so great to hear. There is so much passion and love that took time to create such music. To bad now and days music is not like this.
Ah, beautiful. They don't make em' like they used to.. but ya know if someone wanted to I'm sure they could add the same feel to it but people are too worried about it selling then to create something beautiful. It's all about the money =/
music is the key to the peoples soul, i think that good music has good influence on ppl and bad music bad influence...
and thats the reason why the system hides all the good music and show us the dirt in tv and plays it on radio...

you're right doesn't seem like today's artist expose themselves so simply to true emotion, and rather express whatever sells
