Canadian Health Care is pay for through our taxes. We apply for a health care card according to the province we live in and when we go to the hospital or our family doctor you give them the card, and the doctor bills the gov't. We never get a bill in the mail. I love or health care sometime we may have to wait a little to see a specialist but nothing that will risk your life or leave you in pain.

P.S unlimited access is available in other countries, you still pay fee's but the first question they ask you is not "are you insured" it's "what is your concern?" you are treated immediately, and if you do not have the funds you arrange payment plans in most cases though no payment is needed.

If the fine is not paid, it is taken out of the tax refund due the American people. Any one that is not due a refund and does not pay the fine can go to jail. I have never had insurance where I pay a premium and I'm not insured for four years.

A small test group consisting of 'Both houses of congress, the president, vice president, all advisors and staff personnel to all departments of the federal government and, of coarse Obama's wife and children. We will then, at the end of a two year trial period, count the 'living' and base the bills value on these numbers. OH! And let's add the lovely Michael Moore to this list.
No bill, especially one of this magnitude, should be passed when one party completely rejects it. There should be some method of a party VETO. For instance, if 95% of the non-majority are against a bill, the bill should be vetoed even though the majority votes are enough to pass the bill. In other words, if 95% of the Republicans and independents are against the bill, it should be vetoed.

Like car insurance there will be many claims, but for health care the claims is much much more than car accidents. Just look at moore, his body size and his face will tell you that he is going to need to visit several doctor for his high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problem, kidney, liver, pancreas, digestive problem, the list can go on. Until people takes better care of themselves, the insurance premium is going to go up, so now you know who to blame for high insurance premium.
I lived in Canada for 28 years of my life and never had any problems with health care. It was absolutely great. Of coarse you have wait periods, you cant expect to go in and recieve instant treatment from a doctor that spent around $100, 000 and 10 years of their life for their education. There isnt so many doctors that you go in or call them and they say "ya, come over right now because no one else is calling and I have nothing to do right now." lol.

I have had the "best" insurance my entire life, I have paid for it, and our "health care". I want neither, we are being raped by insurance companies. If we were civilized we would take care of our sick. We in the US do not, thus we are not civilized. To the rulers of the US give us universal care not this con job. Canadian Health Care is pay for through our taxes. We apply for a health care card according to the province we live in and when we go to the hospital or our family doctor you give them the card, and the doctor bills the gov't. We never get a bill in the mail. I love or health care sometime we may have to wait a little to see a specialist but nothing that will risk your life or leave you in pain.

Everyone cannot afford to have the same service as the Prince of Oman. The problem is everyone wants unlimited access to all healthcare available for their entire lives. P.S unlimited access is available in other countries, you still pay fee's but the first question they ask you is not "are you insured" it's "what is your concern?" you are treated immediately, and if you do not have the funds you arrange payment plans in most cases though no payment is needed.

But to many Americans are lazy scape goatist with severe arrested developement due to the nature of it's culture. I agree, we should be charitable. I should be working at soup kitchens, building house with habitat for humanity, donating to the red cross, feeding the kids of South Africa. Face it, Obama is no better than Bush. The bail out, the stimulus money, this health care. Yea, it may help a few poor people. But it also will put an unfair burdern on many others. And I bet you anything costs won't go down. Hell, my deductable has already risen on my plan for no reason. Its politics as usual. I see no great changes in government that were promised. Yes we need reform but this won't be it, watch.

@devax1986 One important thing not talked about is the American people being forced to get healthcare insurance or be fined. If the fine is not paid, it is taken out of the tax refund due the American people. Any one that is not due a refund and does not pay the fine can go to jail. I have never had insurance where I pay a premium and I'm not insured for four years.

@Schiminator Well, most people make the mistake of playing good guy/bad guy with politicians. In real terms, roughly half the country is for the dems and agin the repubs and vice versa. Yes, Republicans are corrupt, scheming, power hungry, pompous fools... so are the democrats. The ones that are worse are typically the ones that are in the majority because they are exercising their power. If someone wasn't a corrupt, power mad sleaze - they wouldn't have gotten into politics to begin with.

A small test group consisting of 'Both houses of congress, the president, vice president, all advisors and staff personnel to all departments of the federal government and, of coarse Obama's wife and children. We will then, at the end of a two year trial period, count the 'living' and base the bills value on these numbers. OH! And let's add the lovely Michael Moore to this list.

No bill, especially one of this magnitude, should be passed when one party completely rejects it. There should be some method of a party VETO. For instance, if 95% of the non-majority are against a bill, the bill should be vetoed even though the majority votes are enough to pass the bill. In other words, if 95% of the Republicans and independents are against the bill, it should be vetoed.
A partisan bill is a BAD bill.

Lordy ... I never thought the day would come when I agree with Moore on anything. But YES, the insurance companies LOVE the bill because it would REQUIRE everyone to buy insurance. And that why it should be defeated. But what Moore would like is for insurance companies to be required to cover absolutely everyone with first-rate care, regardless of ability to pay, regardless of past health issues. And that's a just a fantasy.

It is the responsibility of every individual to buy health insurance. You cannot say i dont want to buy health insurance because iam healthy but i need to be treated for free if i had a bad accident or bad illness.

Like car insurance there will be many claims, but for health care the claims is much much more than car accidents. Just look at moore, his body size and his face will tell you that he is going to need to visit several doctor for his high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problem, kidney, liver, pancreas, digestive problem, the list can go on. Until people takes better care of themselves, the insurance premium is going to go up, so now you know who to blame for high insurance premium.

I lived in Canada for 28 years of my life and never had any problems with health care. It was absolutely great. Of coarse you have wait periods, you cant expect to go in and recieve instant treatment from a doctor that spent around $100, 000 and 10 years of their life for their education. There isnt so many doctors that you go in or call them and they say "ya, come over right now because no one else is calling and I have nothing to do right now." lol.

I have had the "best" insurance my entire life, I have paid for it, and our "health care". I want neither, we are being raped by insurance companies. If we were civilized we would take care of our sick. We in the US do not, thus we are not civilized. To the rulers of the US give us universal care not this con job. It's not the system that is chosen that will cause the problem.
It's the implementation and acceptance.
America and Canada are fundamentally different in so many ways it probably wouldn't make sense to have a 10x Canadian system in America.
I think having the government getting out of HC and allowing true competition would be better for the US.
