When people ask me how I feel about WoW, I tell them that I recognize the massive levels of content it has. In that I could probably get into it, but the gameplay is simply too repetitive for me. But I guess it can't be blamed as many MMOs are repetitive. After all, a player investing thousands of hours in a game can't expect each subsequent hour to be a different experience from the last every time.

I liked WoW, although I do agree the subscription cost is steep for one game.

If you don't like the subscription costs, you could always play on a private server, or on a different game like Allods, Runes of Magic e.t.c.

I left of my own accord and I think it's for the best - everyone plays WoW and enjoys it for a while, but it's like a vortex.  You end up spending hours doing pointless stuff and to make things worse, we all have to PAY a subscription fee, for fuck's sake.

At least Starcraft 2 won't involve subscriptions - just 3 different versions of the game to fork out for.

@KNIGHTCleric Then again I don't get how people can pay £50 for a really repetitive game and then fork out £10 each time just for 5 more maps so you're not excluded from your friends' parties if they have all the maps.

If you want something that has 90s-esque graphics and horrible animations, you'd be playing Runescape, not WoW. I agree WoW's graphics are dated in comparison to the new stuff, but if you favour graphics over gameplay, then you're not a real gamer.
