It looks like a damn arrow lol. As a matter of fact, if IIRC, a 4th gen's coefficient drag is around .33 or so. And that body style civic is probably pretty close to the same as the f-body. Maybe .31Cd at best? So please, just stop trying to be smart with your aerodynamics speech.

    And I can think of a dozen applications were a big block chevy would rock. How about a in a little bit older 1/2 or 3/4 ton chevy or gmc pickup or suburban as a tow rig for example?

    It seems you're not aware, the old sohc 427 ford was the original "cammer" engine back in the days of superstockers, long before anyone heard the name 5.0. And it ran along side the old hemi and chevy big blocks. My point was the big block chevy outlived both those engines my a wide margin.

  • I drive an LT1 - T56 camaro z28 and have nothing but love for both of the cars. Used to be real big into Honda's with an ef and a 5th gen prelude, but wanted something RWD. No joke, though. I love imports and domestics alike. Hell when I went to get my subscription to Muscle Car Review I renewed my subscription to Import Tuner. Please stop being arm chair mechanics and internet racers.   • There is no way to make racing perfectly fair. But it can at least be reasonably close. It's when people seem to see nothing at all skewed about a one car having a completely different engine than factory against one that has a somewhat modified stock engine is when I say, "Hold on a second..."

  • @bstal247 Technology-wise the Integra funny car is ahead of top fuel, but power-wise it is not. That was my point. Even when taking it to the extreme of nitro powered cars measured in the thousands of horsepower even a technologically advanced 4 cylinder is no match for...well, a bigger engine. Simple as that, I guess after a 100+ years of internal combustion engine advancement there still isn't a replacement for displacement. :)

  • @bstal247 Actually there is or was I'm not sure, a 4 cylinder in the funny car class. It was an integra shell with an American made, rather large 4 cylinder. It made 4000HP on nitro with nitrous spooled twin turbos and all that great stuff. But despite those tech advantages over regular fuel cars still running power sapping roots blowers I still don't think it makes enough power to be competitive with the V8's that can make in the area of 7000 to 8000HP.

This video is titled wrong it should say T/A K-swapped civic vs. camaro SS w/cam. That civic is not all motor as it is turbo charged and i think i saw someone say its missing a headlight, really? yes you could do a LS9 swap but shouldnt need to becuase a LS1 can get 400hp from a good cam setup.

    They stay on the limiter because they are waiting to catch traction before the up shift. If they would up shift while spinning before catching traction, they will be in the higher gear at lower rpm then they would want to be.

    Do you get it? Or are you dumb enough to think all the 9-10 second civics out there bounce off the limiter cause they cant drive?

  • @andy2050 You're the dummy listen to the civic in the video again he only hit the limiter in fourth gear. The first three gears the shifts were before the limiter. Oh wait I get it. I guess fourth gear is the gear this civic has problems with traction so he needed to hit the limiter so he does not spin the tires shifting into 5th gear at about 100mph. Riiight, you know what your talking about. Thank for explaining it to me. Face it he fucked up don't try and cover up for a poor ricer!!!

If you start out with a 14sec stock car, you'll get faster on less money then some one who started out with 15-16sec stocker if you both build them into a 13sec (or faster) car. ex: the honda needed alot of work to get into the low 14sec range, the camaro was already there off the showroom. I wonder how many half shafts the honda went though? both are cool cars in there own way though.

  • @THEALEXKONG when gas hit $5/ gallon last time (summer 2007), i was in college ( 6 years after i graduated HS). my daily driver was an 86 f-250 ex-plow truck. it had a 351 4-barrel, 3-speed auto no o/d, 33" super swampers, 4" lift with a top speed around 68mph due to the low gearing. i had no issues driving the 65 mile round trip to college 5 days a week. i worked 7 days a week and filled up roughly every other day. i drive a camaro now that gets 2x+ the mpg and make 3x the $. i have no issues.

    Even though the LT1 Camaros weren't particularly fast, stock vs stock they'd still outrun that civic.

Still had the timeing pulled for spray which he did not use. That night was a long as night. All in all he went up there to race heads up, and thats what he did.   • Nice k20. i currently drive a trans am ls1. an ls1 would of most likely beat that car. Lt1 is very old. so is an ls1. but its closer to the new ls engines. k20 is a modern engine. or fairly modern. that being said. I like imports and muscle. I am looking for a import honda atm.

Its not whining to point that out.

    I never said or made the point that “we’re all hypocrites” I only made the point that those who defend the idea that it’s a fair comparison for a civic to have a completely different engine and still be considered stock because the engine is stock are hypocrites because if I swapped a stock LS9 into this camaro those same people would be screaming their heads off that it isn't a fair race.

    lol I got my first car when I was 17. It was a stock 78 Camaro, 600 bucks. First time I took it out it ran a pathetic 17.5 in the 1/4 mile! Now it's running low 13's high 12's with a 350 out of a Tahoe of all things. rods down it's stock, has budget 11:1 pistons, decent heads, cam, carb, headers. Point is I started building it in high school so you never know were you'll end up.

  • @decadence817 I got the motor as a 100 core. Aside from coming from the factory machined for a roller cam, a 1 piece rear main seal, vortec heads (little better ports and improved combustion chamber over older stock heads) there's nothing special about it. It's just a temporary motor. I'm in the process of building a supercharged 383. I have the blower and the block is at the machine shop. 550-600HP? Mid 11's? We'll see.

  • @MrWatagatapitusberri My answer is no, LIKE I SAID IN THE COMMENT the LS9 was just an example. I could drop in any number of different stock engines in the Camaro and people would still be crying it's not a fair race. It doesn't HAVE to be an LS9. Could be a stock 454 450HP BBC as another example, it could be just about any stock high performance engine that has ever been built. I was pointing out the fallacy that it's ok to compare a Civic with an engine swap to a Camaro without an engine swap.

  • @Warblade118 A 454 big block would still 8-10k alone... but now you are comparing a 454 that would be like a 7.0+ lt?? to a 2.0 lt 4 cilinder engine?? so if we swap an ls1 there would be fare, just because it have a swap?? that's pointless !! so if was an 2002 type r civic woulb be fair because its the stock car engine?? an F-body its a RWD V8, that's more than enough an n/a to n/a k20 fair maybe the civic have a better power to weight ratio, but itsill the underdog in the traction area

I'm not comparing engine A to engine B and saying engine A is better, I'm saying if you can swap an entirely different engine into a Civic of your choosing I should be able to swap an entirely different engine into a Camaro of my choosing.

    And btw, you realize this is a race preped Civic right? No interior and all that.

    If you want to play that game take that LT1 in that Camaro and drop it in a stripped out Chevy Monza.

  • @vtecnegro85 The hell are you talking about "Wont catch traction"? Stock Suspension and tires? Absolutely not, but as soon as you add those upgrades (with some tuning) into the equation, there is nothing stoping that car from hooking and making a fast time.

  • @vtecnegro85 First off, what do I care if either car lost? Not my car. Second, it looked like a really good race. I wasn't standing on the finish line so I can't even tell who won, it was too close. Third, I was talking about the way the Civic looked. Are you telling me, tape all over the hood, weed eater exhaust, and a missing head light (that obviously added like 200HP) is your thing? I guess so. Besides, it took swamping a whole other motor into the Civic to maybe beat an LT1 with a cam.
