That is already contrary to government press release that the relocation is free, saying this without qualifications. Relocatees are bound to pay 30years for cramped, substandard homes in faraway places (some even danger zones), amounting to P160 to P190k. There is a fact-finding mission on the relocation site to be held this week and it is important to see for ourselves the conditions in the area.

@RichieMcDo when we say 'public land',that means the land is owned by the government. when we say 'government',we mean a body that is created and mandated by the people to look after their welfare using their own resources.the government is not a private entity that operates for its own interests; it should work for the people, for what the people needs and wants, for the common good. when 'what should be' does not happen,we should expect the people to resist. and that resistance is justified.

Kung sa isang residential area ba na merong titulo gagalawin ba nila yun? sa totoo lang, binibigyan na nga sila ng lupa sila pa ang mapili. Sana pala sa forbes park sila ilipat para wlang reklamo o kaya sa condo. Tama lang yan kawawa yung ibang taga san juan di napapakinabangan yung public land

Kailangan mo lang sabihin iyon para i-dilute ang main issue. At ang mga mahihirap ang majority sa bawat bayan, kaya kung hindi sila ang nakikinabang sa public land ay yung iilang mayamang makapangyarihan lang ang nakikinabang. ewan ko lang din kung isa ka sa mayayamang iyon? pero i am sure hindi lahat ng mayaman matapobre katulad mo.

Well, you already said that it is public land. If it is public land, this should not be used by a informal settlers as well. The government has the call whether or not to sell it or to use it for other purposes. Simply put, malaking issue na di kanila ang lupa. Kasi kung nasa lupa kita, di mo ako mapapapaalis dahil lahat ay legal.

You can't help others who can't help themselves. It's unfair to ask for your rights if you yourself do not respect other's rights. Don't ask your government to save 80 out of 90 million poor who are mostly not even taxed.

to say that these people is not taxed is fallacious. everyone who consumes basic needs pays tax through the 12% e-vat. most goods the poor can afford are taxed (pandesal and sardines included) with e-vat, while some luxuries and foreign establishments are not taxed.

@umalipaolo taxation was enforced by societies to care for the poor,supposedly it is progressive.where those who have more, give back to the wealth of the nation more. so that those who have less can be supported through social services.but even those social services have been abandoned by our government.

these people established their lives on their own.they raised the money to buy the roof on their heads,the food on their table,the clothes they put on.no thanks to the government

@RichieMcDo Such mentality displays lack of knowledge of the plight of the poor & the state of social justice in our country.It's not just about who owns the land,but who should benefit from the land,the devt projects.(FYI,land in contest here public land.) The poor build their lives on their own,as the government abandons many of its responsibilities to the people.The poor are not in debt to the government;the government has done them a disservice long before they destroy homes in demolitions.
