  • That's crazy my boxing trainer taught me this a long time ago and he's not a JKD man. Jab goes first you body right behind it.

  • 300 years before Bruce Lee, English Bareknuckle Boxers had developed techniques based on fencing theory. They had also developed the idea of 'true times' and 'false times', grounds and governors, which informed a complete system of unarmed combat - pugilism. Bruce Lee's 'ideas' were nothing new - they were not even original.

    100% correct. Lee took the useful bits of JKD from the western arts of old school boxing - Dempsey and especially Driscoll for the straight lead - and savate for kicks. Defense Dans La Rue and Bartitsu in Europe had done everything well before Lee. He claimed western arts as his own.
