i LOVE the fact you used regular old pens and you made such brilliant art. i have always used plain pens and have felt my art was "good for me" but who would pay attention unless you pay hundreds of dollars on pens. thank you so much for this...
You're welcome! I think that we should be able to use whatever materials we want to use. To me, it's just a matter of what is "accepted" or "not accepted," having nothing to do with what is "right" or "wrong" (or good/bad) If we feel comfortable using an inexpensive pen then we will do a good job with it. It's the art that emerges from the pen that counts, not the pen itself. That's how I feel about it.
It's interesting hen those drawings are well done; detailings, suggesting shapes with only black lines... it gives a unique touch to the artwork and you seem more than able to make your pictures vibrate with the style.
I never knew how nice it was, how the renders are nice; but now that I see it, I cannot help but appreciate it. I fell in love with it as soon as I tried; thanks for sharing your art. It is really helpful to observe the line patterns and admire the style.
How nice of you to say! I don't know why I haven't received notices about all the comments, but I have only received a few! I am so sorry to have seemingly ignored your comments. I appreciate them very much!
Your video art presentation is beautiful. I am glad to see there are more people out there who present their artwork like I do. Your artwork is Inspiring, and my definite favorites are the blend of retired cars with nature. I hope you get the time to check out some of my stuff. Cheers!
Thanks so much for your comments! I feel the way you do about the cars and nature. Some are more compatible with nature than others, though (in my opinion). I personally prefer those made in the 1930s and 40s. They just look better in a natural setting, from the style of the outer "shell" to the innermost "bones." Wrecked or not, they look good. Later models (not all, but most) look more like "junk" in a natural setting.
Inspiring. Nice emphasis with the simple tools used to render these images...back to the basics concerning how we think about what it means to be an artist.
You do great work. Your vignettes of daily life - however exotic like the street in China - are very perceptive. Thanks.

Very well done!
In your drawing, the lines combine very well to form a clear picture. And the fact that you only used those pens, well, that IS amazing!
The squirrel is really awesome!

The use of technology is always relative,
just imagine for a moment; if you were to travel in time and present a box of papermate pens to Leonardo DaVinci he would be flabbergasted.
Excellent work

Looks as if time stops for artists to captivate THAT moment. I really like your sketches. And also the song :)
