  • Ilia Kulik melts my heart every time I watch him *_*

  • He can still do triples today.

  • I read the comment in Japanese site:

"All jemale audiences' eyes turned into heart when they saw kulik's skating..."

    lol.

  • Could the commentators get any more annoying...

  • I absolutely adore everything about this program. The costume, the music, the choreography. Amazing opening combination and I was so amazed at the steps into the triple lutz and how he was able to keep his speed for the jump. I'd love to see him reprise this routine in a show!

  • @walover165 Ilia was only 20 years old here, I think... Anyway, VERY young. But what amazing technique. I've heard him described as the most "pure" jumper of his time. He doesn't look nervous at all, does he? I wish he had stayed in competitive skating longer though, don't you? Like you, I am a big fan....

  • Really nice. Great program and - I have to say - I love his costume :-)

  • watch "the Cove"

  • Perfect jumps!

  • My favorite ever, too bad he retired so soon...

  • "just another day at the office, thank you very much" I love that commentator :D Everytime he comments on the programs they seem even more entertaining to watch :D

By the way, Ilia was wonderful i here and in his LP. Well deserved gold medal, it's a shame that he didn't skate longer. 2002 olympics would have been a bomb with Yagudin,Plushenko and him.

  • Tatiana's boys are gorgeous & amazing! She really brings out the bset in them!!!

  • Great and love the his costume!!

  • I really like the concept of this program :)

  • Serpenine footwork was brilliant in its presentation, I never get tired of watching that sequence. The perfect portrayal of Icarus!

  • Loved the music to this program, such an awesome and original choice, never heard anything like it since. His only weakness is his spins, positions and centering could be stronger, but man I like his triple axel.

  • I know I should comment on his performance, because it's nearly perfect, but I think it's great how he said thank-you in Japanese to a fan.

  • I thought Stojko had the best footwork in the SP by far, Eldredge the best spins. The jumps of the top 4 were all very strong and similar. Overall I think Stojko had the best overall elements combining jumps, spins, and footwork. Eldredge second and Kulik third. However on the presentation side I thought Kulik was the best. So I am not sure how I would place them overall.

  • It's really too bad that Eldredge couldn't have nabbed the bronze, he deserved it. The SP was really a tossup. All 3 of them had equal shot at gold though, it didn't influence the outcome the way Slutskaya not being 1st after the 2002 sp did.

  • Eldredge could not have finished with the bronze. Candelero beat Stojko in the LP so Todd could only have been 2nd or 4th. Anyway with Stojko injured and not attemping a quad Todd could have easily beaten him for the silver.

  • good point. Stojko's program was pretty crappy, even without the injury, so he had no chance to beat Kulik anyways. And I say that as a Canadian skating fan, it was just not that good. Kulik's landings were ridiculously soft, his was unbeatable. It really is a shame Todd didn't grab a medal. Phillipe is great, but he never did that 2nd triple axel. And Eric Millot never got his due, but for that one triple flip in 1995.

  • I love how Scott Hamilton is complaining about how footwork is dying art in 1998. After 2002, it became the "cool" thing that everyone was doing.

  • lol that's because Scott Hamilton is a retarded weiner

  • I wish he stuck around longer in competition.

¡Gracias!

  • good skater, I remember during the 98 olympics he ice skated around the ice (for the fun program) with a sword. Good skater.

  • Scott...I love ya, but shut up so we can enjoy!

  • I remember this program, it was truly awesome. Those wonderful jumps...

  • What happened to Kulik after 1998 at just aged 20?

  • I think he went pro, meaning he 'retired' from competition. He was doing the tour circuit not long after this, so I don't think he ever competed in another olympics. I think he got married to Ekaterina Gordeeva.

  • yes jettisom you are right indeed

  • Ilia played "Sergei", a ballet dancer in the 2000 film Center Stage.

  • i think guys figure skating is way cool. i mean, it's not just a girl sport. and it's so graceful!

  • in my opinion he has the best jumps of all !!!

  • I love Ilia! One of my all-time favorite skaters. Thank you for sharing this!

  • I love this one from JMJarre. Perfect for figure skating. Both Jarre & Kulik are breath taking

  • Ilia is sooo cute... I love this song! he must have great tastes in music....:)his jumps are soooo good!

  • I dont like what they say about Ilya. He skates gracefully.

  • I remember of it! Thanks!!!

  • Thanks!Ilya is the best!

  • I love this short program.Just so calm and beautiful Kulik.Thanks !

  • That's huge, I love this music~~~
