This guy is so underrated. Put aside your squabbles over whether it's easy to play or not and listen to the melodies he's playing - it sounds fucking beautiful. I couldn't really give a shit about technicality with songwriting this good. And to the guy who mentioned Tosin Abasi, I bet if he saw this video he'd love it!
how on earth did a discussion about tosin abasi get on this page? i listen to this stuff once in a while to get away from all that lol. guess the whole "djent" thing is getting too big lol.
Well, this is pretty cool. I think that everyone here who likes this style of guitar would greatly appreciate Victor Villarreal of Ghosts and Vodka, and Owls. Almost identical style.
tim collis is not insane... have you dopes ever heard of American Football? They are a complete rip off. The singer isnt even half the singer mike is.
@liberatordoc Your logic is terribly flawed. Any band can sound like any other band. You know why. Because there is a lot of bands. Nice try at being cool tho! Also, Tim is awesome.
Being in This Town Needs Guns and not being a Collis is like being in Oasis and not being a Gallagher. You get next to no recognition. Stuart Smith is a great lyricist and Jamie Cooper is a brilliant musician. I'm looking forward to hearing more of the new stuff since it will have Jamies creative input as well.
tim seems so modest about his guitar playing. it seems like he could easily get up there and play in a "show off ish" way, but that's not at all what he does. a lot of people focus on his guitar playing, but the entire band is equally as awesome. and i've gotta say that not enough credit goes to stu... his lyrics are crazy good.
hahahha good comeback dude, in otherwords you have no idea what your talking about whe it comes to guitar playing. first off its not in stadard 2nd off you could never for the life of you write something this beautiful
@ brandaddy- cool, if its that easy just post a video on YT showing us how easy it is. By the way, if you're a non musician claiming that what you're seeing is easy, then you should stick to what you do know which is probably playing your PS3 in your parents basement.
i've been playing guitar since 7th grade you fkn idiot, i don't even own a ps3, i have a 360. and i didn't mean it to be offensive to the guitarist. i'm just stating a point that it's pretty easy to come up with cool licks when its open tuning, it's hard to sound bad like that. and u called me brandaddy haha you're a gay.
hahah it's funny how people always condemn those who utilize certain "tricks" to, as they say, make it easier. 360? i'll bet you play MW2; yeah, you're probably one of those dudes who gets pissed when people drop-shot you. anyways yeah i'm just gonna say you'll likely never write anything that compare's to tim's work. yeah.
just shut up...I love this band and so do you and thats what this comment box is about, so just deal wi it....i mean, whats gonna happen? your gonna show up at my front door and try to fight me?
dude why are you even writing back, those comments were from like months ago. and i never threatened you with going to your house? and yeah i do enjoy this band. cheers.
ugh, i wish i could play like that. i play tapping-style math rock but sometimes that gets really old even if it sounds good and looks cool, and i feel like if i could play like this i'd be a lot happier :[

is he using a PRS?
BlurredVisi0n 1 year ago
@BlurredVisi0n Yeah he is. He uses two of them in rotation (while he has the other one ready in the next tuning) which I think are the same.
