  • some of the music is reminiscent of gutter ballet

  • I remember hearing this song when I saw them in December of 2010. I thought it was the best song that they played. I still think that. This song is awsome.

  • The version of Tracers that wound up on Night Castle sounds more like the TSO East version, although it does have some elements of the West version too, mainly the pitch of the lead guitar part in the intro.

I think the live version TSO East plays is better than both the album version and the West version, personally.

  • The song is called Tracers. Look up Night Castle on Amazon and you'll see the track listing. It's not called Falling Star or Christmas Gas.

I have an East coast version of this posted on my channel, check it out. It's faster, and played quite differently than this one. I'll be honest, I hope the faster version is the one to go on Night Castle.

  • were getting the name tacers from last year show

  • is that what they called it?

  • yep thats wat i heard

  • this is so tracers

  • lol how is everyone getting this name?

  • ive met these gus...

    they are soooooooooooo safe...

  • I remember hearing TSO West play this back in Winter '07 in OKC at the Ford Center and being completely floored by it. Can't wait for Night Castle to be finally released.

Oh, and at 2:00, does anyone think the riff sounds kinda like the old theme song of "ER"? Maybe that's just me.

  • dude.... that's SOOO true. creepy...

  • Comment removed

  • i know i've heard this somewhere. what piece is this based off of?

  • I know that @1:13 is from Pictures Of Home by Deep Purple.

  • its from the new Night Enchanted album, this song along with the song Night Enchanted (opening song)

  • wow it would be really awesome if TSO would also do arrangements of the ff on the next release:

    1. vangelis' CONQUEST OF PARADISE, CHARIOTS OF FIRE, and ANTARTICA

    2. probably some of yanni's more bombastic songs

    3. enya's STORMS OF AFRICA

those songs (though the new age choices might probably be a bit odd next to the classical selections) would really sound great next to Carmina Burana and Beethoven/Requiem

  • Even though they don't play it every year the highlight of the TSO west show is when they play the Nutrocker. The piano player, who is the lead guitarist wife, is awesome, especially that song. You can TSO east version of nutrocker on youtube by punching in TSO Nutrocker 2003.

  • that'd be sick

  • i was at the show 3 days ago, they played it again.. it was fucking amazing

  • same here it had been stuck in my head for a year already lol.

  • me too

  • great sound quality, thanks for the vid bro!

  • I hear this tonight live at the civic centr here i Tallahassee Florida good god these people are awesome. I work security there and really didnt care what happened I was so glued to the stage. What musicians.

  • I wish TSO would come back to Erie, PA!

  • Great to see the West coast guys for once.

These guys rock!!! Nov. 9 2008 Portland, OR

    I'm there, front row baby!!!

  • the only thing tso s missing is dave mustaine

  • i think John Petrucci would be better for it

  • i change my mind, use joe satriani

  • that would be cool

  • I have been lucky to see these awesome people...I have NOT heard this EVER!!! Way cool!!

  • Exelent Job! 5/5

  • I wish they'd get around to Night Castle, and I really hope this song is on it. It just might be my new favorite of their's.

  • @Annette1m Dunno if you got the album by now but this song is on there :)

  • hahah when the hell are they gonna releaes this album XD its been over like two year since they said they where making it, hahaa

  • yeah..when is night coming out its been like a yeah since they said it will come out...

  • yup falling star for sure

  • Too bad you cant upload the song to an Ipod

  • You know, I've had this song stuck in my head since I saw them Jan. 5 at Wachovia Arena on Wilkes-Barre, PA. I can't wait for Night Castle to come out!!

  • I've got connections with the drummer, it's called falling star.

  • saw them at Target Center in Minneapolis.

  • Don't know what TSO is calling this song, but where they got the line from was a song recorded back in the late 60's or early 70's called "I'm a Man" Performed by the Chicago Transit Authority here:

  • According to Jane -- 1st keyboardist for the West coast group -- this song is called Trazers. We email back and forth and I asked her about it.

  • Really? Someone who knows Al and Jane told me that it's called Christmas Gas. Either way, I love this song. When's it's release? Hopefully NightCastle

  • lol...it's definitely Falling Star. And it will be on Night Castle, which has been delayed for more than a year or two now.

  • Okay, cool. Falling Star sounds better. I can't see a song with a christmas title on a non holiday album. I also heard it could be titled Trazers or Tracers (something like that). Where did you hear this from? just wondering

  • Actually, when they first played this song a couple of years ago, the only name I could find for it was "Falling Star," so that is what I was going on. But I did a little research right after I wrote that comment, and I realized that it could actually be "Tracers." I'm not ruling "Christmas Gas" out either, although I really don't like that title haha. That said I've still read more times in more places that the title is "Falling Star."

  • Yea, Christmas Gas does sound weird. I saw them live from the front row in 2007, and when the song started the whole stage was blue and there was a blue fog. Based on that, I think the song should have something with blue in it, kind of like Falling Star. Anyway, I just hope its on NightCastle, and that NightCastle comes out soon. I read somewhere that a few band members haven't even gotten into a studio yet. Whats up with that????????

  • Okay, cool. Falling Star sounds better. I can't see a song with a christmas title on a non holiday album. I also heard it could be titled Trazers or Tracers (something like that). Where did you hear this from? just wondering

  • Saw them last night (12/30/07) in Cleveland, OH. Let me just say words cannot describe the 'WOW' effect of this show!!!

  • funny, cuz they were in nashville on 12/30/07, lol ;) that's where i saw them at the sommet center

  • They have 2 groups......

  • saw them in Dallas Friday night. They are Awesome! Even had a special appearance by paul rogers. Performed Alright now and bad company with TSO. Had a BLAST!

  • that woulda been great!!!! they did a couple of oldies at nashville, but no guest artist--that i saw or was announced anyways.... lol FAB!!

  • i saw them for the first time last night. i go to all sorts of concerts, but that just took the cake. it was phenomenal

  • I saw them for San antonio on November/24/2007. Best freakin' show on this earth. The ending where they are on the elevator was awesome. The Lead guitarist and the lead Violinist were on the elevator.

  • Same here man...Floor Section, Row 7 Center Stage. The lasers are tougher to see at these seats, but the show was incredible.

  • i saw this oklahoma live yesterday!!

  • According to information from both Anna Phoebe and Angus Clark, both from TSO West, they repeatedly call this song "Tracers". If you go to their websites and read their tour journals, you can see this. Thanks for the clip!

  • They've played this song in previous years. I've gone 5 years in a row.

  • What is that.... I recognize that. I hope they play it at the upcoming concert in Greensboro.

They sound a lot like the Black Mages in this one.

  • That is too cool. Is there any place I can see or get a better copy of this, and your other, video?

  • This is the only place I uploaded it. Sorry

  • ... is the best live band out there

  • very nice video and audio. is there any way i can get a copy of this video. i went to the saqn diego show and hav eto say that TSO besides METALLICA

  • This is the only place I uploaded it. Sorry

  • this sounds kinda familiar...like its a song i should know....hmm.

  • I was at the montreal show the day after this one. these guys are awesome. I became a fan in 3 hours. now I cant get enough

  • Dude, I went to the concert on the 19th in the cox arena...it f'n blew my mind off...i loved it. i tried videotaping it too but the damn security guys were right in front of me!

  • Yeah, security caught me later in the show. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to record or take pictures. I think it was fine doing that though because I paid a little over a hundred dollars for a couple tickets. Honesty if it's going to be that expensive then you should be able to record or take pictures for memories :D

  • wow i was in front row here it rocked

  • Wow, TSO East and West sound so different on this song!

I've heard it's called "Falling Star" a couple times, but is that official?

  • Was it that different? Do you have a link to the east coast one?

  • there's a version from Fort Wayne, IN elsewhere on youtube

  • 6stringer has one: type in "TSO unreleased" and it pops right up.

Yep, you can hear the difference. Not as much in the beginning, but definitely more so as the song progresses. Wonder which is going on Night Castle...

  • I've been lazy lately but I'll see it soon! Maybe TSO is seeing which has the best popularity among the crowd to settle creative differences?

  • Could be, I have no idea. It migh also be the different styles of the band members coming out. A lot of the other songs they play sound basically the same, but they have to because they've been released and everyone expects a certian style. With this one it hasn't been released, so maybe they can take a little artistic freedom with it.

    Just speculation...

  • West is better, no doubt.

  • I have to disagree. East is so much better. We've Got Chris Caffery, Jennifer Cella and Robert Kinkel. I've gone for 8 years...I know. East owns the West. lol

  • Ya i know you get jen, chris, and robert, and jeff plate is good too...west has got al, jane, tommy, angus, and anna! West has a different sound though, its all in preference... and.. I have freinds who play in the west band, hahaha

  • what do you mean by "east and west?"

  • TSO splits up into 2 separate "groups" for their winter tour to accomodate as many shows as possible. if you look at the tour dates you'll notice they often play 2 shows at the same time. they have an east coast touring band and a west coast touring band. i was confused at first too. i'm not sure if the members of each group are the same every year.

  • It's very different the East coast play it with a faster, more effective beat.

  • Just so you know, this songs called Falling Star.

  • Thanks for the information. I couldn't find it at all! :D

  • this show fucken ROCKED |m|

  • Good sounds quality!

    I love TSO's lighting effects.

  • is this footage from hamilton from the 24th??

  • It's from San Jose, CA on the 21st. More information can be found in the description
