I like your videos but I really think it'd be beneficial if you'd let the song run through longer a few times so you can really hear how the sections flow into each other.
@vstparty sooo, in your opinion, where does C wanna go then?
and ffs, if I say A# instead of Bb, will it be harder for you to find the proper note on your instrument? if the answer is yes, keep on practicing, man.
I love the producing, i will try to copy, but i will probably analyse melodies more, before i create them, I think the melody sells the song, even more than the professionalism of the production.
@Kumquaticus Who am I to deny wisdom like that? I'm off to eat my weight in cakey goodness. If tomorrow's tutorial sounds like I'm dying from toffee-based asphyxiation, you'll know why.
I'd really like to know two things: 1) how long do you approximately take until you have the important sounds for a song together, 2) how long does arranging a song take you and 3) how come you know so much about so many genres of music? :p
@Xo1ot1 1) Completely depends on the song - anything from a few hours to a few weeks.
2) Arrangement I've become pretty good at since I prefer writing music with a poppy style or a dancey style, both of which have a conventional structure, so about an hour or two max.
3) I listen to loads of music of that genre before I do a 7 day song and analyse how it's put together! It's a technique called critical listening. :)

If you're in d minor, it's B flat, not A sharp. Oh, and who told you the C wants to go to the D? C#, yes. C? Not really.
