There is not much reason to compare OWS to the Tea Party. For one thing, the upper-tier of the TP is financed and operated by the corporate Right (making it a partisan movement). OWS is "funded" by whatever people can spare, and its complaints have little to do with partisan politics. Second, these people are not having a fun Saturday protest - they are LIVING on the streets of the financial district. There is not much reason to compare OWS to the Tea Party. For one thing, the upper-tier of the TP is financed and operated by the corporate Right (making it a partisan movement). OWS is "funded" by whatever people can spare, and its complaints have little to do with partisan politics. Second, these people are not having a fun Saturday protest - they are LIVING on the streets of the financial district. @profsat5 Not an American, but have some understanding based on reading: the U.S. would be in a surplus, not defecit if not for military spending (as much as the rest of the world combined!) and a dysfunctional healthcare system that is many times more expensive than other industrial countries and has some of the worst outcomes. Nixon destroyed the Breton Woods agreement and subsequent presidents made it worse by deregulating banks and encouraging short term speculation.

I hope one thing that comes out of this is legislation for more transparency in the financial system. One thing that drives me nuts is looking at my 401K and I can only see the expense ratio of what the fund is charging. This needs to be changed ASAP. No more should banks/financial companies be allowed to hide in the clouds and not show us how they are charging for services.

I would vote in a president who can supply jobs to those who have the educations. Just because we are out of jobs does not mean we are NOT worthy of these positions. Many of us ARE just as, if not smarter than those drinking champagne upon the terrace.

Ya need to go after the crooked trade & tax laws that enrich the few at the expense of the many. Right now the GOP are pushin 3 trade deals with Columbia, Panama & South Korea, and the South Korea pact alone will cost the U.S. 150,000+ manufacturing jobs. Obama agreed if the GOP would allow money to retrain US workers who lost their jobs. The GOP said no, then agreed to allow a small portion of the money. So we lose our jobs & have to pay to retrain ourselves for new ones that don't exist. Nice!
