Who are you to judge why people were rioting? As far as I know there was an extra judicial killing of an unarmed black man in Tottenham that led to a riot wave in many neighbourhoods. The neighbourhoods tended to be amongst the poorest in the country. Don't simply project a lack of reason on to them. The rioters may not have articulated demands but that does not mean legitimate grievances weren't at the heart of this.
