this level of skill with traditional animation would translate well in a 3d environment and make work stand out. if i were hiring at a major studio this would be a crucial attribute i would want to see in a 3d animator. i see more life and style in these demonstrations then i see coming out of computer animation schools. someone that has the ability to make well illustrated story boards and animate high quality pencil tests would be a huge asset and show in the finished product.

@leemoore I gotta break it to ya. I am an animation student and if there is one thing I learned after three years, it's this- 2-D animation is slowly becoming 2-Dead! If you look at the movies now, everything is is 3-D! I think it's almost getting to the point where anything animated traditionally is automatic crap! I t sucks balls but that's the truth!

@cantosprofanae Look man, I have to tell ya, I love 2-D animation too! But not all 3-D animation is crap. It all depends on if the overall story holds up and if the art work is spot on. I strongly believe that it is healthy for all animators to have an appreciation for all animation. Not to knock those idiots that are all like" Yeah! Anime is the best in the word!! Everything else suck" (Feel free to punch him) Oh and yes, I'm not all that crazy about Avatar either.

You should edit out your old crap and most of the girl sketches, and add longer animation scenes if you can. The flatwork is boooring. The actual animation is really good, give it a chance to speak for itself.

Hey, man first of all I would like to say nice work. But, maybe you should think about cutting it up into two reels. One for your best animation work and another for your illustrative work. It is better to have two short reels of just your best work divided by discipline. Than one long reel. An employer wants to see what position your applying for, so you submit either a one minute or 2 minute reel of either animation or illustrations. Just trying to help man. Good luck, nice work

Way too long for a reel. I'd say you could cut out every still and still have a nice reel.

As for the dialog cutting out early, I'm assuming its because what followed wasn't your work, like a cut or an assistants work.

You have some very nice animation in there but far too many quick sketches that don't really show anything special.

I love your animations! LOVELY pencil tests! But why did the parts with lip sync keep cutting off mid-scene? Finish the line of dialog out so the audience can see your full timing of the shot. :) Also, if this is an animation reel don't put illustrations or storyboards in with it (have a separate 'general reel to show off 'everything'). And I'd try to cute it down it to like 2 or 2.5 minutes including beginning and end name slates.
