what most americans dont know is that 50% of brazilians are white thats why they still see it as a poor country
Brazilian economy is large but the industry accounts only for 25% of the gdp while russias accounts 37% and china 46%, and a superpower needs also a strong army
Depends on what you consider 'white': if it's 'non-black', less than 25% of Brazilians have african ascent; the other 20% have some native ascent, which includes (from 1100 b.C.->), Fenician, Atlantean, Egyptian and others.
Many see it as a 'poor' country because the kosher media wants them to and/or cause americans are so ignorant.
Services + industry + farming make it so rich and independent.
Brazil has no enemies and today invests, loans and strategically supports all its neighbors.
@Brunogava100 not all true mate, i agree with the high prices wich is insane and the violence, well, what country doesnt have it and its not that bad
and we are not ignorant mate, but some of us are, and everywhere has their idiots even in america, wich is my favorite country even more the brazil. That where im from by the way.
Brazil is really growing, because the Brazilian people work hard, there is the country where most taxes, and there is still much poverty and people living in shanty towns, and violence and illiteracy is high, education is bad, you Brazilians need to take advantage this time that the economy is high, demand for, health, education, security and dignity Principles, the Brazilian people work hard and deserve respect, Brazilian fight corruption!
@Brunogava100 – you're clearly just another bad brazilian with a completely media (Veja, Globo, Estadão) cooked mindset, to say so much repeatedly obvious bull****. God bless Brazil !
And God is, 'cause it's now the ONLY country in the world unaffected by the banksters' contrived crisis.
They still have a long way to go. A lot of poverty, stupid and uneducated minorities, inequality and so on. However do not underestimate Brazil, they can make it far:)
@nico2710 - A lot of poverty??? Today the USA has more people below the poverty line than Brazil ! You don't read that easily in the media. The difference lies in the urban poverty of some cities, especially Rio, where it's very apparent, while the US has always hid it's 40 million poverty stricken citizens away from view.
If Brazilians were as Stupid as you, it would'nt have such a grandious history, much older than any anglo speaking nation, which I see you know NOTHING about. Go study !!
@Aventors Say what? No no you've got it ALL wrong you ignorant fool! Around 25% of Brazil's population lives under the national poverty line. 9% lives for 2bucks a day. There are over 10million undernourished people in Brazil. Are you telling me that USA is somehow worse than Brazil? Get a grip Einstein.
You're embarrassing yourself. Your point is invalid. Do you want me to post some number for the USA 2 or is it really necessary?
Remember that the cost of living here is still lower than in the us, and the work informality rate still quite higher. So, here are the facts, not what the media wants you to think: "Between 2003 and 2009, the income of poor Brazilians has grown seven times as much as the income of rich Brazilians. Poverty has fallen during that time from 22 percent of the population to 7 percent."

I just found out recently that Eduardo Bueno is a seperatist from Rio Grande do Sul. He doesn't consider himself Brazilian. Refers to Brazil as "that country" and Brazilians as "they" or "them" And actively advocates for Rio Grande do Sul to break away from Brazil. And this is the guy 60 mintues go to speak about Brazil? Really?

tourism
is another positive in the northeast and south
Sanat Catarina state in the country has beautiful beaches, not to mention the delicious food
beautiful wetland, Amazons, falls of Foz do Iguacu and other beautiful places that could be quoted.
I love the USA and Brazil and I know very little of these two great powers
as a tourist would like to travel all these parts of Brazil as the other of America. God Bless you all
