I am happy to say that I have grow old with Placebo. I remember watching Taste in Men video back in 2000, buying sleeping with ghosts CD when it came out back in 2003, singing along to Meds songs when it came out back in 2006. It's like having an old friend.

Did you know Placebo is a pill given to mentally damaged patients? My point is that the pill is actually nothing. That means if you are feeling a pain in the stomach , doctors give you those pills making you think that its a medicine , in the meanwhile doctors also said that our brain has ''defenses'' to somehow fight back to a sickness. The whole thing i said means: PILL=NOTHING-->[BrainControl]=­Brain fights sickness=No pill effects=You are now ok.

@segisnogueras From what I can understand the song is talking about dealing with someone who is addicted to drugs and drinking. If you watch the video to it, it basically spells out that you can only help someone with these issues (or any issue for that matter) if they are willing to stop beating themselves up and try to help themselves first. Watching the video really helps to understand the meaning behind it all.

The needle and the damage done is a reference to neil young, the song is about drugs, obviously. How you were mother nature's son (a person, born in a certain way, with a certain personality) easy to understand, easy for anyone to relate to, and now after the drugs changed you because of a sordid twist of fate (the decision to do them) this is your song to say goodbye. he tries to pull the listener up from drug abuse.

The insults and realize reality in this song are just brutal especially with Brian's voice. chilly man. That's why they are a great band. They only play about what they know. It puts that honest emotion right behind the lyrics so rather than them just playing the song they are telling a story that needed a bit more artistic flare than most.
