it sounds like the floor is extra springy, so maybe thats why she was having difficulty landing? Or who knows, maybe she was just having a bad day. By the way, love the leo :)
the no lunges may look cleaner, but its a bit unfair if youve gone through a lifetime of training and then have to change something like that. of course youre going to get that with any rule change, a generation of gymnasts who have been taught differently, but it would still suck.
my ballet syllabus is in the process of being updated, and thats hectic enough without being a professional national representative like these guys.
they got rid of it they completely changed the scoring system. Now its like back in '96 how it was like 9.733 now its stuff like 16.033 and 14.637 im glad they changed it back to that way
@kristinaalannah that's not the point, you don't have to land with straight legs, you just don't need to take the lunge backwards. Some girls can do it fine and it looks much cleaner. None of the other apparatus' are allowed to take a step on the landings, why should floor be any different?
almost every female gymnast in the world now does a double pike for their last pass, its so predictable now. last time i checked, a double pike was the same value of a tucked double, did that change?
I love how Elfi states, "She's having some problems on her landings today," as if its something nobody else would know unless she said it- yet by that point all of Bridget's passes have had shaky landings.
@harrypottersgymnast Yes it is. And the same routine, too! In her one from the 2008 Olympic Trials, her entire body went out of bounds and she handed on her hands.
Her form is inpecable on her full twisting double pike.

i ove her suit here. i think the no lunge (sp) rule is the stupidest thing ever! it almost impossible to land with straight legs on skills this hard

@bbhouk1 She had a better "bad day" then Bross, probably... And I think that she made less mistakes than Bross all in all.

The commentators job is to eduate the audience, just because you are a hardcore fan doesn't mean they're suppose to be quiet for you.

I really wanna meet Bridget. She trains not even two hours away from where I live. I'd feel kinda stalkerish just showing up though. haha.
