  • wow who else thought it was just a picture until smoke started coming out of side exhaust haha

  • I love my 91,ugly as hell but the best mini van ever231000 the only replacement parts are bolt on.

  • some areostars came factory with a 5.0

  • Comment removed

  • @kreigsmann nope.... only the 4.0 V6 was the biggest engine, while in the early days, you could get them with a 2.3 I4 and a five speed or an auto YUCK! and that engine was slow in the tempos! can you imagine something as big as an aerostar with only 97 hp? but here you can look it up on Wikipedia if you wish to know for sure

  • nice your probably the only Minivan in the world with a V8 engine nice.

  • @sideslide23 no, i have engine from 92 econoline in 90 aerostar

  • Can I buy it pleeeeeeease :D

  • that sounded like a Chrysler starter and not a fords

  • @jims72

That's because it is. Read the description.

  • That's awesome. You should race it.

  • Really Awsome! I grew up with our 92 aerostar named Lady and she is still running.

But I wish she was in Great shape as yours.

we use to travel to mexico and SD all the time but now we just cruz around town.

  • very Awsome. Wish my aerostar still runs.

  • uglyy

  • @antlopez209 vintage

  • Hahahaha! This is great because most people don't know anything about cars and would be like "Dude, what's with the noisy beater Aerostar van?" Only car people would have any idea! love it

  • them aerostars bring back memories man we used to have one v6 3L but we sold it mint cond no rust man a 91 ford

  • Ok random stupid question got an explorer with a 4.0 v6 it was running bad so i took it in and they said two of the six cylinders are shot like they dont get any compression what could be causing that? and is it fixable?

  • @crazyrocker1989 if it smokes any sounds like you lost some rings

  • mopar powered ford=win

  • yep - thats a 318....(you can tell by the oil smoke ...) Why is it that nothing made by Chrysler seems to have decent oil stem seals...

  • @xbfalcon351coupe Seems like a lot of the 90's 4.6L Single cams had that prob too

  • @xbfalcon351coupe Nearly impossible for a 318 unless it was really really abused.

    1984 318 v8 - 140,000 miles, no problem before it was sold

    1993 318 v8 - 215,000 no problem

2000 318 v8 - daily driver 188,000 and nearly run to rev limiter daily, no problem

2002 318 v8 - 15 passenger van 430,000 a little lifter tick with cold start, but not burning oil.

The 318 is one of chryslers most dependable engines since the 50's along with the 360, slant 6 and 4.0 I6 in jeeps.

  • @sirmasterpimp Well, its in the video. I've only had a Dakota with a 318, it was slow, and the tranny came apart.

  • i though this was a picture of a van with sound over it until half way through haha

  • the answer to a question nobody asked.

  • Which V6 did it have? I'm thinking of buying a 4.0 4WD Aerostar, the 4.0 I think is a decent motor, the Explorers/Rangers had them too.

  • 4.0L was the BEST V6 engine made by ford you cant get any better because it is the best when my 4.0L died (lack of care from previous owner) it wanted to continue on it pushed me and my Ranger back home 30 miles away.

  • i feel the power

  • nice, dad had an aerostar when i was younger, got rid of it just before i could drive and got a shitstar... i mean windstar, wish he kept it, i wanted 2 drop a v8 in it as well lol

  • @TrueAssassin666 ha shitstar. thats true the windstars and freestars do suck. i guess thats why i see so many at junkyards and so few aerostars.

  • Needs a new head gasket

  • hope fully ur van dont rust to shit like most aerostars

  • i dont know, that only happens in the north i believe. i live in georgia and see maybe 2 'stars a day, and i drive one myself....and none have rust probs. but when i visit fam up north, where they salt the roads, thats what tears up the rocker panels.

  • None of the vehicles made like it up north, particularily New England.

The gas in CT is terrible, my Aerostar has plugged along for about 250,000 miles, and until I got stationed in CT, never had to have it's fuel filter replaced.

I have had to replace the fuel filter and purge & clean the gas tank 4 times in the last 4 years up here.

Other than connecticut induced fuel problems, we have had no real problems with our Aerostar

  • do a burnout

  • Beast! Ford was so stupid when they decided to kill this legendary machine. Gotta love that stock 3.0 Vulcan! A tank of an engine.

    Nice vid.

  • wow def unique no doubt bout it

  • next you need big fat drag slicks in the back.

Or even cooler, put a lift on it.

  • How did you manage to shoehorn that engine in there?

  • Thats different. Nice job.

  • sweet! i just bought one wiht 260,000 miles for 100 bucks.

  • nice

  • Does that got a Hemi in it? Just kiddin! Great use for a good ol van!

  • AWESOME way to recycle rather than scrapping a good van still but with a burnt motor. WICKED.

  • what was the smoke from?

  • From the exhaust...looks like it's cold out.

  • I wish they still made them

  • I like the V8. people that are fighting over which van is best, get a life, fight about the trucks or sports cars, but a Van? wtf

  • Because a van is practical, sports cars and trucks have little if any everyday use.

  • Pickup trucks have plenty of everyday uses, lol. You can't put a gooseneck trailer on a freakin minivan, lol.

  • Other that hauling, trucks have no use at all... That's the whole point of a truck, to have a bed to carry and the muscle to move things sometimes 2 times its size and weight.

  • hahaha v8 aerostar lol thats nuttin lol hows bout a v8 chevy astrovan lmao

  • I like to see some kid who thinks he's a bad ass with his rice burner pull up to that at a red light laughing, and then when the light turns green you will have the last laugh.

  • lol i agree good ole 5.2 ltr power lol or well 318 cui lmao

  • @Leveractionjake Hell yeah! Cool! i want to get my grandmothers 92 and out a GM 3800 series II supercharged engine in it! That would be awsome! But I would drive it until the good ol 4.0 in it dies!

  • sounds like a dodge v8 in this van listen to when it starts up its got that chrysler sound to it.

  • I was just about to say that same thing damn starter and compression ratio's.

  • so there is a bad ringed v8 mounted where the family used to sit?

  • its a beast!

  • An interesting approach - but I'd use a Ford motor!

  • Does it even move?

  • Check my other videos, and find out.

  • post a video of you opening the hood, the I'll be satisfied.

  • dat soun lyke a slipa yo!

  • Aerostar is the best minivan in the world- Nobody can argue- it was the 1990 Motor trend truck of the year.. ha! none can say otherwise in your face lol

  • this ford aerostar is better then chevy astro and dodge caravan

  • HELL NO, not even close. Astro's kick ass. They are much bigger and they are easier to work on and you don't have that stupid hatch back either. Astro's and Safari's have the good old rear cargo doors. The way vans should be.

  • hell yeah dude!! astros and safaris for life!!

  • If the areostars were so good, why did they discontinue them wayyy before the Astro and Safari. Hmmm?

  • aerostars are fuckin tanks. do u own one? if u dont then u really cant talk bad about them can you

  • my 93 starts when my friends showcar 95 sebring doesnt.

  • Really! sounds good:)

  • Ford discontinued the Aerostar because it was more expensive to retrofit them with the new safety standards for air bags for side colissions than to make another new car, that's why the windstar appear.

  • ...damn windstar, sigh

  • its an aerostar......

  • i was lamenting over the death of the aerostar and it's subsequent replacement by the inferior windstar...

  • sorry, didn't see that you had replied to someone else.... damn youtube, sigh

  • the only way to make a ford go fast, put a dodge engine in it.

  • It rides a bit stiff, there's the added engine weight up front, but we have new shocks and new bushings on it, so it doesn't handle much worse than it did stock.

  • does your aerostar have bumpy rides? My family used to have an aerostar, '92, then we got a ford Windstar '98. I miss the ol' aerostar!

  • lame

  • post some vids of you driving the bitch!

  • kool

  • it would have been nice if my dad's 1993 ford aerostar had a v8 be4 he got his 2004 f150
