@movimyhead maybe true, but in modern times strengthening youre bones is even more foolish. the martial artists in feudal times strengthened their bones so that they can penetrate wooden armor. and those martial artists only job was martial arts. strengthening your bones, especially your hands, reduces functionality so if you have a life to live other then martial arts, id strongly advise against it. in fights against people without wooden armor you dont need to strengthen your bones.... ever.
@movimyhead wooden dummy is for form not to strengthen anything. Iron Palm training is for bone and muscle strength. There is a correct tool for anything and this has nothing to do with trying to strengthen skin etc.
Very nice dummy training great piece of equipment very creative i like your video very much . Being creative is very important to excel in the martial arts i will tell other martial artists about your site great sensitivity training off your dummy keep training up. if you want you can my you tube its under sifu jack soderberg or naumutroi we have two wooden dummy videos besides other training i sell lot of vintage and new kung-fu training & jkd Sifu jack face book Las vegas
hands down can be used to attract a boxer in closer to take out the knees and groin with kick combinatiosn and purely be defensive with your hands and face.
I did make a lot of practice and training weapons but stopped. I throw in a couple of extras usually with a martialarm purchase. Been selling them for over 9 years and doing ok still.
It is modified towards jeet kune do. I did some training in Sydney from a guy who formed his own just like Bruce did in the states. Actually they are the same age and both with the last name Lee. Funny ha
if this dummy is being used for more active and speed training you can also get the same results from a wooden wing chun dummy just you get more weight behind it when you are attacking it this particular dummy represents an arm on a soft padded body there is no need to train with this dummy unless you are soft!
Yes you sound too hard for this training Luky enough there are many soft styles that focus more on form and technique rather than hitting hard and kicking trees etc. So I agree totally with you.
Hello these people are right this is not a wing chun dummy,
wing chun dummies are made fromdense wood.
Not only so that it doesnt break whilst you attack it but to condition and strengthn and when you strike you should use some force hence why the dummies are heavy.
why is a training dummy only made from wood? Can I not decide to make my own type? Condition all you like on your traditional dummy but I like this type for an active workout. Thats all!
i understand and appreciate the fact that you are saving me face yet this has also been a practice for many years called chi gung or iron shirt kung fu (medicine ball) yet there is an antithesis to this called accupuncture and reflexology. ganglia impulse and the such
when you break bones they get rebuilt stronger, and same concept with muscles except the breaking part. if you condition your body it will get harder and stronger.
nice, some of the people commenting are ignorant, look at how much that guy can go, it's not like he just woke up one day and decided to do a hardcore workout, he had to build up to doing that.
can you imagine if he went psycho in a metropolitan subway system and went on a bare-knuckle rampage? there ought to be a law against being that bad ass
Where can I buy one? Do i just go to the martialarm website? it seems like a Wing Chun Training Arm It will be good for jeet kune do and trapping hands
come on man, why you gotta be like that? it's a video, that's it. you sound like you got something to prove by hatin' on this video. i'm not saying that you don't train harder or can't back your words up, but what's the point in sayin' all that, come on now! i watch these videos to add to my own routine a bit, but i'm a decathlete, not a fighter.
Where can I buy one? Do i just go to the martialarm website? it seems like a Krav Maga Training Tool It will be good for jeet kune do and trapping hands
my 500 pound perfect form deadlift at 175 pounds bodyweight isn't enough training for you? just saying rounding your back is fine proves your wierdity and unsafe practices in the weight room. please, never show your face in one. i am sure that alain gives a crap when a gun kills him every time as well. <rolls eyes> your arguments are immature, inconclusive, and well, show your wierdity.
i'm sure if you were put in the ring with him you would get the great beaten out of you. if you think his jab stands outs id sure like to see what you can do...dudehead!!!!!!
thanks for the comments and advice guys, i'll try to put up some more clips as soon as i can as i do mix it up a bit and enjoy a challenge. the stick is just there to help me keep good form and allow me to make sure my back, neck, head are aligned and straight.
Ill training with a martialarm, well...i guess...i wish i could do hard body trianing, dont know how to do it Ill training with a martialarm...but yeh...but what they did. they could probably do some damagae to a bamboo tree...
Where can I buy one? Do i just go to the martialarm website? it seems like a Krav Maga Training Machine. It will be good for jeet kune do and trapping hands
and the point of all this is.........?? notice how their instructor walks with a cane and appears crippled or at least lame in one leg. too much of his own training perhaps.
as someone who trained in both wing-chun and very briefly at muai thai, i kinda understand the importance of both approach. back when i was training muai thai, i did body-conditioning exercises too. and it did help in combat. it goes beyond just deadening the nerves. body-conditioning also hardens the muscle (since you flex to absorb the impact), and hardens the skin in extended training.
Not wing chun is true but with 5 years of wing chun training and then heading towards jeet kune do and aikido is where the arm is from. But traditional wing chun has been implemented into many styles now - and as it should just because of its theory. Yes this dummy has hit me a few times and so most are the moves are learn't by using the machine - its great to actually be able to really hit a training partner :)
