is there a better songwriter he even rivals paul mcartney as a songwriter .i was going to go to that show like all his small hall concerts in those days he.d sell out in 5 minutes and i was raising 3 babys thank god for u tube
They opened bleacher seats behind the stage at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium,it might have been a day before the show.So I left school, and caught the bus dowtown to get the tickets. That was a 4 + hour show in 1985 that I will never forget. Thanks Big Man for that day much more.
I remember they played this entire concert on Frog's Late Show, WEBN in Cincinnati. I had recorded it onto casette and flat wore that tape out playing it so much. Best concert I've NEVER been to! I'm 37 and was just a wee one back then but the folks drank and partied like hell to this stuff so at a young age, I was turning into a little rocker also! Very fond memories...and lot of tears
@mermar19 Cleveland Rocks...I'm from Philly and was jealous and happy when Cleveland got the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You had WMMS and we had WMMR. Early Bruce supporters. Most of my Bruce shows were in Philly, a few outta town shows. One show I regret never seeing was any show in Cleveland.
@moocow117 I totally understand your point about the Rock Hall. I am a native Clevelander but Philly sure made its' contribution to the development and promotion of RnR as well.
@forestroot first of all there's nothing bad about being homosexual so dont say that if it's somethin bad. second of all, he's not homosexual, he's married to a woman named patti scialfa
The best live performance from Bruce ever and its too bad he did not cut an album from it. I remember it well back in C-town "78" MMS 10th anniversary show. They blasted that baby all across the Midwest. Great show

So utterly, profoundly, brutally true. Listening to this still after 34 years is still a deeply religious moment for me.

Laying here in the dark you're like an angel on my chest
Just another tramp of hearts crying tears of faithlessness

Played this song recorded live of the radio hundreds of times as a teen, it still gives me chills 30 plus years later.
