i just wish wish they would show some kind of respect to the original artist ..even if its just to know where people get their beats ..which is something i think a lot of people are curious to know
Now they do, dont worry, Copyright is now everywhere. This was happening actually to mostly black artists back then when there wasnt Copyright in the US yet (it happened in the 80's not earlier!) White people would steal their music and make the money and fame with it. But then all changed. Do never think you can get away with Copyright Infringement and it is wrong, and factually against the law, to state any such a thing like it is ok, its illegal.
@denizdiii I agree. I bet if the tables were turned and timbaland's original stuff (if he has any) was getting sampled and they didnt credit him or not pay him for it, I think he would be pissed. Thats just my opinion. Give credit when credit is due.
Listen, mate. Some things, you need to know: First one: Sampling. That's not a problem, is it? Second one (much more important): Sampling the original's much better than interpolating it with real instruments. THIS would be fuckin' fake, man. Third one: Timbo can make use of a sampler. I regard this as an instrument. If you could do this either, why don't you?
First, Sampling or not sampling, not crediting is violating COPYRIGHT and is technically stealing. Second: Sampling REQUIRES the piece to be remixed and modified, otherwise it's just a copycat. Third: Sampler an instrument? You wish. The sampler is a poor mechanical, cheap excuse of an instrument, so those who don't have the talent or the will to play a real instrument or sing, can think that they have talent.
Pushing a button and getting the machine to create a soulless sound is not talent.
I don't care your cultural rainbow shit, Abdel Halim, Warda, Mayada El Hennawy, Muttis Akarsu, Ahita Al Menhali and Janne Sunny, amongst many others, are not getting anything out from this.
Credits for these songs refer to Timbaland as the sole producer, so the ORIGINAL ARTISTS are not gaining any fame or profit.
You can hide it beneath a fake acceptance layer, but as a Mexican/Icelandic musician I tell you, I don't care your racism rainbow crap, copyright is copyright.
I bet if someone ''sampled'' anything ''creative'' Timbaland ''created'' he would sue his ass.

That guitar solo was amazing! Too bad Timbaland wasn't original and had to rip a guitar melody from an artist in Greece.

@leavingbristol Point being: Timbo sampled this without permission. As in stealing. Sampling is an art; selling music that isn't yours isn't.
