.204 shoots much flatter than a .22-250. Kick is so minimal you can watch the impact through the scope. If you could only own ONE rifle that "does-it-all", get the .22-250 because it has very light AND very heavy bullets - you could take a white-tail with it. But the .204 will shoot flatter, and not be as hard on you or your gun.
For geese, a .204 will do better, but good enough to buy it AND own a .22-250? That's a tough decision.
