  • 0:12 the layer was so convincing that a real giant moth could really exist

the plant the mushrooms the weeds.

    very nice

  • the special effects of the buildings who blowed away is quite good even as the fire

  • when I was a kid I loved these movies, I knew it was fake but they were exciting to watch and that's good film making.

  • This whole thing is sexual as hell. 1:44 looks like a giant scrotum.

  • @Nicecatholicgirl and the larva? it's SOOOO phallic.

  • Moral of the Story... STOP KIDNAPPING THE FAIRIES!!

  • if 2 mothra eggs have two mothra larvaes, then why only one becomes a butterfly?

  • For a female monster (and don't think of me as some creep) but she is considered to be the hottest monsters ever! The fairies are also hot.

  • Now, This is the real flying monster that has eaten three friends too many.

  • look, a giant peanut! lol

  • Yuji Koseki's score is put to especially good use in this original JA trailer

  • wtf? little people on a pimped out cinderella carriage?

  • i remember when i was about 5 years old i watched a movie similiar to this it might have even been it buy the image i remember was a giant winged creature like a butterfly/moth that left toxic particles and it was flying over a town in the beginning and the people started to freak out and after it flew by it showed some skulls on the ground and radioactive liquid around the bones like it melted them or something. is this that movie or is there another movie that im thinking of? please help!

  • @armadaofplanes3 Did it have Godzilla in it? If so, then I guess it's Hedorah from Godzilla vs. Hedorah

  • Tsuburaya did some of his best work on this film IMO. And I might be one of the few who LOVES the score.

  • i want mechamothra,how cool was that.a movie called"Mothra vs Mechamothra"man i wish its true.

  • Nice, i like this old movies

  • In many ways, it was the original Mothra film that truly planted the seeds for the Godzilla franchise of the 1960's. It transformed the giant monster film from horror to adventure and spectacle.

  • Checking it out? I'm buying it first thing tomorrow, sale or no sale!

  • I just did yesterday @ best buy for a mear $15.00, along with H-Man and Battle in SPACE

  • Now "Icons of Sci-Fi" is DEFINITELY on my "Must Buy" list! Seeing both versions of "Mothra" clinched it for me. (I rented it from Netflix over the weekend, and "H-Man" and "BIOS" are #2 and #3 on my Rental Queue!

  • @001989 Everything Different in Space.

  • Wow, everyone here has some incredibly great comments! I do agree that this is possibly the most under-rated kaiju film from Toho. I does have a good cast (Takashi Shimura is great in anything he does) and fantasy theme is fantastic. I hope everyone checks it out on DVD with Battle in Outer Space and H-Man on August 18th!

  • this is the most bizarre movie i ever seen

  • You can buy bootleg copies of this on ebay for $8 or less...i did, and it's awesome!!! Picture quality is great!!

  • The only non-Ifukube score that has worked in a film made by Ishiro Honda. Dammit, I have had the VHS tape since I was 5, just give me the DVD ...

  • mothra=ownage!

  • This movie is a great way to show off Mothra's power while keeping her a good guy (err girl) at the same time. And it's also a great to introduce her into the kaiju era.

  • Brilliant movie, especially in its original Japanese version.Mothra is such a beautiful character, kaiju or not.She has about as much elegance & beauty as Wonder Woman herself,& that's saying quite a lot.Hey,check out my folder for my Wonder Woman/Mothra story on my channel. You might like it.

  • Humba-Humba!

  • Wow, did you ever think about how many times the To-kyo Tower has been stomped, trashed, blasted and destroyed by prehistorical reptiles and huge insects? Here it serves as a base for MOSURA'S chrysalis!!!

And it's still standing today!!! What a landmark!

  • By far one of the best I love this movie

  • It's a shame not to have this on my DVD collection. This film needs to come dvd for R1. Mothra kicks ass!

  • It'll be out this year. Sony's got it planned for a 4-pack with H-Man, Battle in Outer Space, and Rebirth of Mothra 3.

  • are you serious!!??? did somebody tell you this just to mess around with you or does it say so in sony's website?

  • This movie definitely needs to come out in R1 DVD as well!

  • Mothra's my favorite monster. I'd love to see the movie where she first appeared. It looks really cool.

  • Ifeel cheated that Mothra never made it to DVD over here... Arguably the best of the Kaijus. Best monster theme tune too. Little singing princesses make every song a joy!

  • I love this film because it shows what happens when nature gets even with humans. ;)

  • Inarguably, Toho's most underrated kaiju movie in America.

  • Rolisica = USSR and USA

New Kirk City = New York City

    Rolisicans = Americans

  • cool nice trailer

  • Does anyone know where i can download this movie.

  • Question: Does anyone out there know the name of the actor who dubbed Nelson's voice in the U.S. version of Mothra? I've heard it in commercials, as well as in cartoons like "King & Odie" and "The Mighty Heroes" back in the 1960's.

  • kh101 i am jealous of you.

  • i still think that the flying mothra puppet is fantastic.

  • the japanese guy at 00:56 the only ones i've seen him in are Gojira**(1954), Mothra**(1961), Godzilla vs The Sea Monster**(1966), Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla**(1974) and Terror Of Mechagodzilla**(1975)

  • the tokyo tower? good!!

  • Hi! Skullgojira here! Thanks,CCZilla aka Daikaiju Sokogeki!

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Mothra and I would give my right arm to watch this movie. (Not Literally.)

  • I'd give anything to see a bi-lingual version of this movie on DVD!

  • kh101, could you please post Mosura on here, if it's possible??? A lot of us would love to watch it, and ireally don't care if there are no subtitles!!!

  • Mothra is possibly the only Japanese DVD from Japan that I have (Region 2, that is). I love it.

  • does anyone have the Japanese version of this in its' entirety?? Would love to see it on here!!!

  • I saw this movie this morning...It was pretty good!

  • Damn I Got this Movie On Vhs They Should Have This Movie On DVD.

  • Hey, do you think you could unload afew clips like say when mothra (as a caterpiller) attacks tokyo.

  • Is there a sub version of Mosura anywhere on this site?

  • No, not yet althrough i want to see a sub verison of it too

  • Exciting! Great!

  • Thanks for posting. One of the best monster films ever! Incredibly original, exciting, unique.

  • I don't see why, Mothra is one of the tags and I think it makes the YouTube video sound unique, personally. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
