i remember when i was about 5 years old i watched a movie similiar to this it might have even been it buy the image i remember was a giant winged creature like a butterfly/moth that left toxic particles and it was flying over a town in the beginning and the people started to freak out and after it flew by it showed some skulls on the ground and radioactive liquid around the bones like it melted them or something. is this that movie or is there another movie that im thinking of? please help!

Wow, everyone here has some incredibly great comments! I do agree that this is possibly the most under-rated kaiju film from Toho. I does have a good cast (Takashi Shimura is great in anything he does) and fantasy theme is fantastic. I hope everyone checks it out on DVD with Battle in Outer Space and H-Man on August 18th!
