What does the little squat and shake that he does at :25 mean? I used to visit a Parrot that was just stuck in a cage at a photo studio. When I would go up he would do that. I called it his happy dance. I felt so bad for him. I would visit an hour at a time and give him nuts he would drop in the cage (only clean ones). He seemed to appreciate that.
The fluttering is behavior typical of a female parrot. Ted, who owns 350 parrots, says he's not really sure what it means. He thinks it might just be playing. Perhaps it's a happy thing. I do know that I've only seen female parrots do that and it can be an indication that they want to mate. Beyond that, I can't tell you much more.
Wow! Thank you for such a quick response. That is good to know. I do love your videos...and the birds. Thank you so much for sharing. Corkie has such pretty colors.
You're welcome. Corkie is quite the ham. Search my site for Corkie. Also, Avis is funny too! I'm happy you are enjoying my videos. That's good to know.
Yes! He was having a COW because I didn't take him outside too! He could see through the window! Lol! He had his turn. Sometimes I put them both on the fountain together.
One of my brothers birds died the other day so he went out to get some more and when he baught another one to keep the one who dies partner happy he ended up getting 2 love birds for free!
and recently he found out his 2 finches had layed 5 eggs
That's so sad when our pets die. That's cool that he got the two love birds. And, finches lay a lot of eggs. When my finch first laid eggs, it was at Easter time and I thought my kids were playing a joke on me and had sucked one of those tiny jelly beans down so it was white and small then put it in the nest! Lol! That was before I was experienced with birds.
No but Ted offered to give it to me the other day. I'd never seen one either until Corkie. There are other Corkie videos. He/she talks a lot and is a clown!
Pretty little macaw! He seems to really be enjoying the sun. And his green feathers just shine. I've liked parrots since I was in elementary school but am not able to have one. Watching your videos is kind of like being able to visit. They are fun to watch!
Corkie is pretty. He hadn't even had a bath either. They get really shiney then as the dander tends to dull the feathers, especially on Cockatoos who can look like they were dusted with baby powder. Umbrella Cockatoos get really dusty but this is a sign of a healthy bird.
I love watching Corkie! You take very good care of your birds. That is so great to see. Many people buy them, stick them in a cage and then ignore their needs. So sad!! Your love for them is evident in your videos !!! I am glad I found your page! Keep up the good work!! Thanks....LISA
He was having fun. One hot day last summer he sat under the stream that was coming down from the water fountain and let it pour on his head for about ten minutes. I should have got a video of it.
Every time this video plays, Frostie calls back to Corkie! Lol! Yes, of course. It's just a bit overwhelming. I often take Frostie and Avis with me when I go but take four parrots with me? I have plenty of room. Maybe if they are all together I won't feel so bad about leaving them. If I just take Frostie, then I feel bad for Avis and vice versa. Now I could take one with me while the three remain home to keep each other company!
i had one of these parrot. But it pass away today :(
