How did this video turn into a huge argument between the U.S. and England? I'm an American that spent age 18-23 roaming the U.K. and I can honestly say aside from the accents they are extremely similar. (Health care goes to the British) It's stupid to argue about shit like WW2, and for an American to claim that they saved anyone's ass shows a lack in history knowledge. People need to stop being ignorant of other countries that shit is getting really old.
Why the hell do I still see arguments over countries in every video I go to? Seriously people still can't get over this? I live in America not all of us are stupid or fat, and I've met people from Britain and France that are really nice. (I can still see why a lot of them hate us though.) But the point is stereotypes aren't real. They can apply to the majority of a group but never apply to all of the group. So you just can't hate anyone for their stereotype. It almost always isn't real.
The pride option is absolutely correct, why would someone wage a battle in the city that bears his own name and lose over 20 million lifes just to keep it. And if someone was building or has nuclear weapon and is crazy enough to use them then your best option is to be friendly. And America are just power hungry, they only want glory for them selves and don't care how they do it, and both World Wars are examples of this. Read Stalingrad by Antony Beevor before, you give facts about Stalin.

And this whole thing on pride is purely political. Yes, it would have been crushing to lose Stalingrad, but equally so in Russian confidence in their government if they found out that the U.S. funded and supplied nearly half their war effort.

Britain is ranked the third best army in the world, for tech and tactics, just because people have personnel doesn't mean they are going to win. Your military is not the biggest you just spend the most money on new weapons which only increases firepower, North Korea has an army of 9.5 million. How about we stop sqaubbling like two 6 year olds and come to a compromise?

Ever heard of the Spanish Armade, or the battle of Britian, in both of these events we have been outnumbered, and out-gunned, but we still manage to fight them off. If Britian had falling in 1941 then America would of been attacked by the Germans. But we could argue for years on this matter, so I suggest we come to a compromise.

The British and the French, and the armies of the rest of the world helped, but they don't say they won the war, when Everyone would tell you it was the Russians. So if Russia defeated the Germans on the eastern front, And we the British defeated the Germans in North Africa, Then America was only present on the western front with the armies of the rest of the world. This goes to show the bravery and the skill of the men who fought there, with limited food and supplies, on both sides. And before you say if America didn't join in then Russia would off been beating, America, Britain, Canadian, and French resistance landed in normandy in 1944, by this time the germans were pushed back to their borders, by the Russians !!!!

Explain then the U.S. lend-lease program where they provided food, clothing and ammunition to Russia, before AND after Stalingrad. @InitialAB And while that's very true that we weren't the only ones fighting in the Pacific, I do believe that we were the main brunt of the force attacking Japan. I didn't mean to ignore the other countries whose troops bravely laid their lives on the line, but I still think Japan would've won if not for their attack on Pearl Harbor and the subsequent U.S. intervention.

The fact of the matter is the Russians defeated the Germans, Romanians and the Italians, at Stalingrad and pushed them all the way back into Germany. When Britain, America, Canadian and free France were fighting the Germans the were already weak from losing their most powerful army at Stalingrad.

Also-for a long time, there was no "correct spelling" for things, just what the person in charge of that specific, individual print shop or the person in charge of the scribes thought seemed right. And, for a long time after there was an "official" way to spell things, they were not commonly used or widespread due to cost. So, technically, we could all be wrong and the word isn't spelled "colour" or "color" but "kuhler". We will never know.

I'm an American that spent age 18-23 roaming the U.K. and I can honestly say aside from the accents they are extremely similar. (Health care goes to the British) It's stupid to argue about shit like WW2, and for an American to claim that they saved anyone's ass shows a lack in history knowledge. Why the hell do I still see arguments over countries in every video I go to? Seriously people still can't get over this? I live in America not all of us are stupid or fat, and I've met people from Britain and France that are really nice. (I can still see why a lot of them hate us though.) But the point is stereotypes aren't real. They can apply to the majority of a group but never apply to all of the group. So you just can't hate anyone for their stereotype. It almost always isn't real.

The pride option is absolutely correct, why would someone wage a battle in the city that bears his own name and lose over 20 million lifes just to keep it. And if someone was building or has nuclear weapon and is crazy enough to use them then your best option is to be friendly. And America are just power hungry, they only want glory for them selves and don't care how they do it, and both World Wars are examples of this. Britain is ranked the third best army in the world, for tech and tactics, just because people have personnel doesn't mean they are going to win. You're definately right, I should've pointed out that it would've been Russian/German I suppose. At the same time though one can argue that if the U.S. hadn't gotten involved, Germany would've been able to crush Russia as they didn't have a second front to deal with.

@MemoPortero The Russian's fought off the german's with no help from any country, when they were pushed back all the way into a city. This goes to show the bravery and the skill of the men who fought there, with limited food and supplies, on both sides. And before you say if America didn't join in then Russia would off been beating, America, Britain, Canadian, and French resistance landed in normandy in 1944, by this time the germans were pushed back to their borders, by the Russians !!!!

Explain then the U.S. lend-lease program where they provided food, clothing and ammunition to Russia, before AND after Stalingrad. @MrShaunturnbull Stalin and Zhukov both said in reports opened to the public in the 80's and 90's that without the Lend-Lease program, victory against Germany would've been impossible.
To quantify this statement percentages of lend lease aid items were given. Almost 95% of rail stock, 60% of rails, 56% of aviation fuel, and 40% of transport vehicles. And almost all of the radio equipment used in 42 and 43.
You wouldn't go against Stalin's word, would you comrade? ;)

@InitialAB And while that's very true that we weren't the only ones fighting in the Pacific, I do believe that we were the main brunt of the force attacking Japan. I didn't mean to ignore the other countries whose troops bravely laid their lives on the line, but I still think Japan would've won if not for their attack on Pearl Harbor and the subsequent U.S. intervention.

@MemoPortero Do you really think the Russians would take anything from the west. No. Stalin had too much pride, and he hated the west for not help ease the pressure off them. The fact of the matter is the Russians defeated the Germans, Romanians and the Italians, at Stalingrad and pushed them all the way back into Germany. When Britain, America, Canadian and free France were fighting the Germans the were already weak from losing their most powerful army at Stalingrad.

Also-for a long time, there was no "correct spelling" for things, just what the person in charge of that specific, individual print shop or the person in charge of the scribes thought seemed right. And, for a long time after there was an "official" way to spell things, they were not commonly used or widespread due to cost. So, technically, we could all be wrong and the word isn't spelled "colour" or "color" but "kuhler". We will never know.
