  • hey oabbasi thnx, this guys are friends of mine.. and its cool to see some good feedback in the comments!..

im living now in the united states, and i regret that i cant hear them live..

    BTW Great song!!!! haha

  • @poisonsm Compaaaaaaadre!!! XD

  • i sat up all the bass gear for this band int he studio

  • going along with what ghosttrain said, the genre was pretty much started by Death, which gave it the name, "metal like Death" or just Death Metal for short

  • @Theoneandonly504 more like Possessed, I think Possessed is the first band that started that genre before In Flames, Dark Tranquillity and At The Gates made it melodic and more iron maiden influenced death metal

  • @Khalis33 both bands formed around the same time and both bands could be called pioneers in death metal, i guess you could argue either way or maybe it's just personal preference

  • @Theoneandonly504 what are you talking about death metal for, this is melodic death metal

  • this picture reminds me of halo

  • @stephencardona Yea it reminded me of the pillar of autumn from Halo 1 :D Don't know why thats just what comes to mind when I see it LoL

  • Where do you think the genre Death metal came from?>

    From the band called Death

    look it up

  • @ghosttrain22 you sir are correct

  • anybody (including oabbasi, lol) can list down all south america/latin america based melodic (insert sub-genre here) metal bands please. most of my collections are scandinavian, eastern europe, asian, and a few others. this would be a good way to discover new regions of melodic (insert sub-genre here) metal. just to show that metal belongs to the whole world ^_^

  • nice cover, nice song. I like these guys.

  • that's actually a really badass album cover... i cant stop staring at it haha

  • vocals arent tht bad but the guitars awesome

  • couldn't help but fucking lol when i saw the halfass-named band i had just saw, and more after listening to it hahahaha omg, this must be a joke

  • Is it just me or does it sound like they have some of that harmonic chourus sounds like iron maiden idk but awesome song

  • Definitely a good song, thanks for sharing again, oabbasi! :)

  • i know right?

  • can anyone else hear the Chuck Schuldiner influences here?

  • fuckin awsome! \m/ \m/

  • sounds a bit like this ending

    or maybe crossfaith

  • SWEET START AT 0:06

  • In Flames had nothing to do with founding death metal, that was before their time. As for melodic death metal, in flames were pioneers but I think it's wrong to say founders. Carcass were probably where it started, Amorphis were also very early (formed at about the same time as In Flames).

In Flames along with Dark Tranquillity and At The Gates stand out as groups who established the genre (hence Gothenburg Metal). However, groups like Edge of Sanity and Opeth also did a huge part of the job.

  • Dark Tranquillity had their album skydancer out before Carcass heartwork. I would say Dark Tranq beat them to the punch, but they all came out at the same time. FYI, Carcass did not create a melodeath album until heartwork.

  • @Wraithdegothia Carcass Pioneered Goregrind and death 'n roll

  • @Subtleblades he is talking about heartwork

  • @neuropulsation Heartwork was their transition into death 'n roll

  • @Wraithdegothia did you forget chuck schuldiner?

  • Wrong Carcass wasnt melo death until heartwork after DT skydancer came out.

  • @Renagade1325 Yes, I agree. When I wrote my last comment I had my dates mixed up. I had a bit of a memory fail there and thought that Heartwork was released in 1990, I have no probs with admitting when I'm wrong though.

    Cheers!

  • @Wraithdegothia I think Carcass started out as a grindcore band and just in the last few years played melodic Deathmetal. so they are not founders of that genre imho

  • @plutodrake81 Not exactly in the last few years. Heartwork was their first album that can count as melodic death and that was released in 1993 so they were quite early. As I explained in my last comment, I remembered wrong and thought Heartwork was released in 1990 and that's why I listed them as one of the founders.

The mistake was mine though and I admit it.

  • @Wraithdegothia recommend me some metal like in flames please

  • @GalenSpring into eternity, dark tranquility, kalmah, in mourning, dark flood, scartown, kill the romance, mors principium est, skyfire, the wake, misery speaks

  • @Melasthe1st you sir have a magnificent taste in metal. many thanks

  • @Wraithdegothia my dad has an old L.P. a band from france back in the 70' it was truly death meatl before the world knew what metal was

  • @lalamedajr whats the name??

  • @lalamedajr ok now give more info on it

  • @Wraithdegothia The founders of Death Metal are Unleashed, Dismember. I am 39, and listen to Metal since 27 years ;) I saw all Metalbands life :)

  • @Soulless1973 Don't forget DEATH and Possessed!!

  • @6Ty6Wall6 Also do´nt forget Obituary

  • @TheRockerReaper Hell yeah!! You know what's up!

  • @Soulless1973 How can you not mention Death, Death were defenietly the pioneers of Death Metal

  • When it comes to Dreams of Tears I would certainly say that they're melodic death metal although it's more on the aggressive side. In Flames always represented the softer and most melodic side of Melodeath while groups like At The Gates and Edge Of Sanity were more on the fast paced and aggressive side. All of them can be called melodic death metal though.

Meh, arguing about what genre a band belongs to is pretty pointless anyway. Many bands borrow a bit here and a bit there.

  • @barbarain111 too bad inflames is bad now and way more nu metal than anything. their old stuff like jester race and jotun are badass tho!

  • In flames way better tbh... just a remark.. saw one of you fags saying something..

  • dude this band is way better than in flames

  • @valles666 imo this band is a lot technically better than in flames and a lot more 'metal' but I don't think they're quite mastered the art of being catchy and especially memorable like In Flames, This Ending or Amon Amarth.

I mean they have some kickass riffs that I'll bang my head to, but nothing that really GRABS me the way the main riff on Parasites, or the intro to My Sweet Shadow does. Then again this is the only song of theirs I've heard so far.

  • please dont feed the trolls

  • starve the fucking trolls

  • people that use ' w/e ' are emos

    awesome track

shame all the fans are whiny fucking pansies!

  • just because a song is heavy metal or w/e doesnt mean every one listening to it is emo... christ sakes

  • wait emos dont like metal

  • i disagree with everything that everyone says. which must make me emo and a fan of "any word you can think of" with the suffix "core" added. that's the basic metal fan's insult these days right? you're emo and you like fagcore! perhaps my grammar is too good. u emo suk! go here sum fagcore!

  • oabbasi congratulations ... awesome song, awesome band... your channel is excelent .

  • you sucks ,fucking emo... the vocals is awesome ... this band is awesome...

  • Wheres an Emo? i see no emo's here. only ignorant kids that don't know what the fuck their talking about. first off this band is repetitive, vocals are horrid. i hear no Melody in this, only shit used in most Fagcore bands these days. this isn't Melodic Death Metal, the only genre this band should be under is "hardcore"

  • man shut up you dont know shit about metal and your not a metalhead your an embarrassment

  • Not sure if i should be insulted becuase of what you said or becuase of how late of a response this is. Anyway, nice try again. Better luck Next time. You may resume listening to horrible music now.

  • what ever poser

what do i care what a prepubescent kid thinks

go listen to in flames ass hole

  • Yes, i'm the prepubescent kid, even though your replies are far beyond infantile. Farewell and have a nice day.

  • again you prove my point.

  • Your replies get more pathetic and childish with time. How genuine. I need not even try, for you insult yourself.

  • You are one confused little moron. First of all, the only thing i did was mention that i didn't like this band and that it doesn't sound like melodic death metal. than for some awful reason you impede your own silly judgement upon me with playground profanities. Also i have never insulted you, only went along with what you said. Sounds to me like your the child with no life. I rest my case, besides i have given this video way more views than it deserves by responding to your idiotic comments.

  • i know you gave it a lot of views that was the point.

thanks for supporting a great band jackass

btw i bet you like in flames

  • try again.

  • go listen to in flames

  • Your scale of fail is far beyond epic. Go listen to Deathklok, i saw it on your favorites. haha

  • "metalheads" are an embarassment to metal imo. you fit in this category, you just use your thesaurus more frequently than most... cant wait to hear you play music.

  • fucken awesome song!

  • i didnt know this band but is AWESOME!

  • dude how do u even find out about these bands lol? fucking sick dude.
