Nice job on the build and the videos are great too. I bought the same kit and I thought about keeping the parts loose so that I can duplicate another using different woods etc. I see that you had filed down the metal plate to fit? I was wondering if one could actually add material of different woods and possibly laminate the top and bottom of the head getting a different look and build up the needed thickness? I don't know if that would "throw-off" the needed angle of the head or not? Joe

If you just used the sandpaper u already taped on the body, u could get the joint perfectly matched

Nigel, thanks for talking me out of EVER, EVER building my own uke.
