17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.
This guy is the same pastor who complained that congregation members are being "big cry babies" because they wanted more theological study and worship. This church sickens me.
The problem with this theory is that we could presuppose that if people stop looking, we no longer have to live up to this mantle. Should'nt we live as Christians because we have entered into a relationship with Him, not because of who's watching. I agree with SoulSurvior, its about what Christ is doing not what we're doing. What we do is simply respond to Him. He chose us we didn't choose Him.
I really don't think that you are applying this verse in context. The verse corresponds more to the people in the world than the saints. Many, many saints looked up to the Apostles and spoke well of them, they were not false prophets. The Bible also says, let others esteem you...(Prov. 27:2) I think the Pastor was talking more so about the seriousness of the mantle that God has put on their lives. In any case, I think it best that we pray for our brethren, and let God be the fair judge.
look soul, how dare you clame to know him, or the people at this church. you know what you need soulsurvivorinchrist? you need to get your head out of your A#@!
This is the problem, Christians want to look more to what the the local church is doing rather than to what JESUS CHRIST wants for there life. The MEGA CHURCH does not hold the KEYS TO ETERNAL LIFE. Pastors, stop worshipping business models and worldly success and start worshipping God or You may be surprised when You stand before Him.

@dbhaisley I agree with you 100%. he's just saying that GCC was #6 on most influential churches in America. Is that such a crime!?

I'm incredibly privileged to be a member of GCC (this church.) I don't understand how people can give this video thumbs down?
Religion is supposed to be about love, but it brings out the worst in people when their beliefs don't align perfectly.

This is very sobering stuff.
