  • This was so beautiful. Thank you Hopemonger.

    Obama'08! NOW!

  • Very well done. I pray daily for a change...for all of us. Thanks so very much.

  • Beautiful video that gets better everytime I watch it! Yes, we can!

  • you have another choice. Theres Clinton

Obabma McCain and the libertarian canidate(the third party). which will be chosen at then end of may.look at their views if your not strongly on a side. the may have the answer your looking for. you may not have heard of them much because republicans and democrats have gained so much power and money, its hard for a third party to speak.

  • I would vote for a woman for president, if she had progressive political views. I will not vote for a triangulating Joe Lieberman wannabe of any gender, race, religion, or ethnicity. The Democratic Party is supposed to stand up for the people against the economic royalists. It's not supposed to join them in their union busting activities. It's also not supposed to hit the fear button card-- that's the beginning of fascism. Fear leads to fascism.

  • Clinton has fought hard for change and delivered it even when it wasn't popular or getting her headlines. We need a president who will work hard for us when the going gets tough, not just give a speech and head to Camp David for a round of golf - like Bush does. Obama looks to me like a catch-phrase candidate. Promises without a track record to believe in are a little empty to me.

Hillary is the only candidate I see as a real hope for our future.

  • if anyone wants another demolition like 9/11 with people inside it vote this bitch.if you want wars definitly vote this slag.if u want your rights striped away this whore will willingly rape you.wake up america!!

  • I nearly cried when i say this. The reason is that Sam Cooke ( the singer) was my dad's favorite singer and this was his favorite song. His life was very similar to this song:

    1. he grew up in South carolina ( during segregation) and moved at the age of 16 to Detroit(runs like the river)

    2. He had a stroke and he would always tell me that he would be dying soon

    3. His would help out his brothers but they would take from him after his death they tried taking my belongings in the will

  • Thanks for the video. I love your You Tube name!

  • Excellent video. As ebutuvideo explained so well people who have hope keep fighting. Obama gives us this hope because he is trying to change the root cause of so many of our country's problems: corporate greed and control of our government. While 90% of Hillary's donations are for the limit of $2300, 90% of Obama's are small donations from ordinary Americans, who he is so obviously fighting for. After reading Obama's detailed plans on his website under 'issues' I have hope for our country again.

  • Thank you for the inspiration! Obama 08!

  • Hmm, not only racists, but also inaccurate, ignorant and immature. Karma my clild, karma.

  • EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!

  • fuc Hillary and her politics of lies...

  • I don't get this "response". The black people in this ad were slaves and descendants of those slaves. Barack is not one of them. All these people (the unions, women, blacks, etc.) only had hope to get them through their tough times. They didn't rely on just hope. THEY FOUGHT FOR CHANGE AND MADE THINGS HAPPEN!!! Where is his record? What successes has he had in the Senate? Bill Clinton rode the "Hope" and "Change" train back in '92. Barack loves stealing all of Bill and Hillary's ideas.

  • Like many others you seem to miss the meaning of Hope. If you think of the opposite of hope it may help you understand what Hope is. People who are hopeless feel beaten, they give up trying, become apathetic, and accept their fate. People that have hope keep fighting, keep striving, refuse to accept status quo, they keep getting back up, in the end they succeed despite all odds. Obama has explained this in his own life very well but most still can't seem to get it. "Yes we can!" Go Obama!

  • I have plenty of hope. I find it amusing that Barack and his supporters think they are the only hopeful ones. Hope is not a trademark. All of us have been beaten up by George Bush. My point about the hope in the video is that people FOUGHT to make a difference. Hope didn't produce them results, it was ACTION. I believe we need a fighter and a doer against the Republicans. They won't give up the white house without a fight and I know that HILLARY can fight them back just as hard.

  • Radikal

Ok. I agree with some of what you say. The critical point is that people that have lost hope will not fight for anything. They are beat down and have given up. Barack has worked with such people as a community organizer and by renewing their hope these people have risen up and become actively engaged once again. Hope creates action. Just look at Obama's campaign and you will see what hope can do. Hillary wants Barack to change his tactics. Do you think she is trying to help him win?

  • Thank you.

  • why?

  • "I recall Obama stated he didn't take money fro PAC groups, Well maybe not them personally but from PAC members spouses, their children and business associates. He takes from special interest groups ( Vote Hope, Move On) and corporations Exelon, UBS. Had fundraising from Public Citizen group by Nader idenify lobbyist-bundlers.not registered "straw donors"

  • NO one has the power to take the hope away from you unless you let them!

    OBAMA 08

  • Anyone who takes the time to research the candidates will realize that Obama is the person for the job. Yes, he's a great speaker and has a positive message. Why would anyone consider that a negative? His inspirational speeches made me dig deep into both his and Clinton's stance on policy. I much preferred his approaches, his Senate record, his personal integrity and consistency. Folks, take the time to get to know the candidates, then make an educated decision.

  • Ron Paul!

  • Democrats are idiots, republicans are idiot's, liberals are idiots. Anybody who made up their mind before they hit an issue is an idiot. Think about who you're gonna vote for. Vote for yourself, vote for the people. If you vote for someone, then you don't have the right to complain about the things they're doing wrong which i'm sure they're going to.

    "Garbage in, garbage out!"

  • I feel sorry for people like you that live in such a dark room! See the light my friend & I guess a good start would be to believe in yourself first.

    OBAMA 08!

  • Believe in ourself doesn't necessarily mean voting for someone just because we think he/she has the potential to change things.Voting is meaningless, let the words swirl around your head then form your opinion. No body is one party, there's a bit of this, there's a bit of that. Bush for example,in his first election almost 70% american voted for him. So believe in nobody, everybody makes mistakes. "YOU" are the only one who can change yourself, your life. Nobody can do it better than yourself.

  • First off, only half of eligible voters voted in 2000. Second, Al Gore won the popular vote. Bush is in office b/c he won more electoral votes...but even that is disputed.

  • I figure. People. You, me, us. We got a choice here: Wait 4 to 8 more years for the next great president- or vote for him NOW. Don't you feel the urgency? How more f---ked up does the world need to get before you embrace hope. It's the only horse you got in this race, you know (thx Eggers).

  • I was so moved by this video. It was so incredibly inspiring. It may me more than ever know that I AM on the right side of history by supporting Barack Obama. Thanks Hopemonger. Hope always brings about great things.

  • And what a refreshing, exciting movement it is.

Passionate Obama supporters are some highly educated and talented folks.

His logic, rationality, and intellect are astounding. Anyone who reads about him, as well as his books, and listens to him at great length IF THEY MAKE THE EFFORT TO RESEARCH JUST A BIT can't helped but be moved by his very clear understanding of a globalized world.

  • obama:the next great president.

    hillary:the next bad prseident.

    america:the choice is yours.vote wisely.

  • I want to cry, im glad you guys saw this, African americans have been through so much. Please for not for the color of his skin, but the measure of his character and he has shown that his character is immeasurable.

  • islezeus,

I'm a white, 49 yo male. I don't care if Obama a Black or White, male or female, Christian, Muslim, or Buddhist. He's intelligent, articulate, clear, and seemingly honest. He speaks for the common man. He has my vote.

  • islezeus, i am white, and Republican. I still have faith in John McCain but should he drop out at any point i will support Obama..it's not something to mistrust..i see him as a hope for the whole country..he is dignified, respected, great oratory , humbled...he is what a leader should be (no crap dragging) trust a little

  • OMG. That's was so emotional for me, I almost teared-up. I'm Black and was nto expecting this, at all. Barack could possible win this nomination. I just hope this isn't a trick by the Republicans ACTING as Democrats and voting for a Black man, knowing full well that the racists in this country will not vote for him. I hope I et to see a Black president in this generation... this can really change te country for the better!

  • No trick, islezeus. This is REAL. I used to be a Republican. I voted republican for 32 years and I am a Obamaniac. This is MUCH more than a campaign. This is a MOVEMENT. It transcends politics and is going to sweep through this country like a firestorm of love.

    Hope, believe, then Know.

  • You are more than right. You coined it exactly as it is...a movement.

I just hope that I'm alive to see him elected.

  • The vocalist is Sam Cooke.

  • Ron Paul and D Kucinich for VP the only 2 who make sense...

Whos that singing , like that song, but I forgot his namE!

I hope people dont vote for Obama just cuz hes black.....

  • America, I love this country!! John Brown, William Lloyd Garrison, Frederick Douglas, Abraham Lincoln, Shirley Chisholm, Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Tubman, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr, and now Barack Obama. Do the right thing; vote Obama 2008. I have a feeling he won't disappoint!

  • Ron Paul < Alan Keyes << Barack Obama

  • RON PAUL period. End of discussion

  • Obama is ready alright! Are we?

  • Yes - America is ready. However, the media is not! Pay attention to some of the words and tactics that are being used. For example, strong words such as "rout" and "rejigger" are being used in the headlines to report Obama's SC victory. Not only do the words have negative meanings but their appearance invokes other word associations. Shame on the media! I will not give more examples, because I do not want to spread the deceit.

  • This is so inspiring...we have come a long way...

  • What talent! Marvelous production. Make more!

    Love and hugs,

    Aunt Becky

  • Very emotional and inspiring video, hope. you said it all without saying much.

  • Yeah...I haven't cried in a long time. I could feel through my whole body. We should bring this video to the Obama Campaign's Headquarters. This is better than 10 policy speeches...

  • what's that song's name anyhow? anyone can enlighten me?

  • 'A Change is Gonna Come' - Sam Cooke.

  • One word: Bravo!!!

  • I love you, hopemonger.
