I appreciate that this presentation is public. I am curious about the countervailing presentations that occur in secret, conducted by politicians, enforcers, and bankers. Do they have their own conference like this?
@vladomie Just ask yourself who talks to politicians. There are people doing that fulltime to convince the politicians that their employers are right. So they do not need a conference. They have private lecturers.
About last question, it reminds me of the tales of the Grand Inquisitor story in The Brothers Karamazov of Dostoyevsky. It's always easier to trade liberty for confort.
@pasdavoine Brilliant short story. For some reason tho I had quite a trouble to persuade people to read it. Even less to think about it. Is audience just illustrating what story is about without reading it? :D
I found the question quite interesting. It was of the ilk: "What is the percentage of hunger in Bangladesh as opposed to Germany?". The implication was "You are from Bangladesh and you represent the 'no plutocracy ' popular opinion there. If Bangladesh is worse off than Germany where a form of plutocracy is the norm then your idea of plutocracy being bad is obviously faulty". Apart from being factually incorrect in its assumptions the question is indicative, I think, of a brainwashed fool.
I like how he says in the beginning that he has no idea of economics. This saved me 25 mins, as this is actually a precondition to being able to say anything meaningful on his topic.
@someman7 Yes modern neoclassical theory is mostly bullshit and fractional reserves are actually fraud, so there is much you may have learned that is wrong. That doesn't mean however, that this guy has the answers. Money is important for commerce and interest rates serve an important economic function of intertemporal coordination of consumption and investment.
This guy is poking at age old finance scapegoats, I bet if we were living a century earlier, he'd calling for the death of the Jew.
@mbarkhau so are you now saying that he may be saying something meaningful after all? in any case, how can you judge if you haven't watched the video?
Oh My God..!...wow...Thank you Robin...I want to know more!

@pasdavoine Well said, sir. I'd add that in the industrialized world we are often overfed and this is far more of a problem then it at first seems.
