I don't have the game but I read enough about it to know that the way the summons are, actually fit with the theme of the game's world (Mechanical vs. Natural).
The summons are mechanical so they can balance out with their human partners.
It's new and I say it's actually pretty cool (no pun for Shiva)

I like how they did the summons in the HD version of cutscences (you know, like in FFX, they'd have those crappy cutscenes and then the other ones with great graphics), but I didn't know Shiva had....a sister? You must understand that they can't just duplicate the same thing again and again in each Final Fantasy. In this chapter, the story line is huge, dramatic, with awesome facial expression. They trying to blend magic, technology and nature. Personally, I think Square Enix made a good decision to take that direction. This is the first in HD with a new combat system. You must consider others things, who is the main director and the rest of the team. In the end, they will sell a fuck load!

anyway yeah I'm disappointed Diamond Dust was great in the past i would of been happy with just one of the old animations with up graphics or FF10 style summons that could of been dope. Or have the summon give you like a weapon or armor or you merge with it and enter an overdrive instead of a car..
I'm judging Square Enix on the games they have made sence Squar Soft Died. namly FFTAdvanced, FFX-2, FF11, ect.

This is my least favorite of the summons in this game - I don't like either the regular or the gestalt forms, but I do like the character models. Ah well, Shiva was always somewhat of a starter Summons so I'm not surprised they didn't get a bit more inspiration for her design.

@MaxHinaNaru The concept is okay I guess, I like the twins combine idea like in zelda Twinmolda, but the regal shiva is gone now and that I just don't approve of. Maybe if it had a few more old shiva elements but I see why they did it like that. Shiva and Bahamut is by far the most acceptable summons out of them all so yeah I just think maybe it should of been more snow mobile you know that would fit the gimmic and have snow ice and water coming out behind but meh not tentacle rape at least :3

anyway yeah I'm disappointed Diamond Dust was great in the past i would of been happy with just one of the old animations with up graphics or FF10 style summons that could of been dope. Or have the summon give you like a weapon or armor or you merge with it and enter an overdrive instead of a car..

I'm judging Square Enix on the games they have made sence Squar Soft Died. namly FFTAdvanced, FFX-2, FF11, ect.
There just rolling out with stupider and stupider ideas while alienating there old fan base in the proses.
For you to understand think of it as them taking Halo, and turning it into a FPS where people died the first time you shot them, and no noobtubes, shotguns or vehicles, where you actually had you aim and shoot first to win. You would be pissed.

the whole FF13 mechanic summons is pretty ummmm shitty.......

well,, sadly.. Most ff games don;t focus on the stories of the Summons..
well, of course except for FFX (aeons, fayths, summoners and all)
It would be so nice if square soft would make a FF game about the stories of the Summons; how did that all start...
And I wish that the basis would be FF-X because FF X is the only FF game that Summons have a major part in the story.

This is my least favorite of the summons in this game - I don't like either the regular or the gestalt forms, but I do like the character models. Ah well, Shiva was always somewhat of a starter Summons so I'm not surprised they didn't get a bit more inspiration for her design.
