None of the magic rose cube videos helped because I only understood the easy parts and I kept on doing folds until my module looked like yours and the assembling was easy because all you had to was stick in all of tails in. Now I love making these that I made my first one like 2 weeks ago and I can't stop making them and I made 10 from a lot of colors. If you make a lot of these you can use them as building blocks.

Yeah if you think assembling the 3 pieces into one point for the rose is hard, try making a five intersecting tetrahedra dodecahedron. Those are absolute hell to assemble.

yay! the moments when u had to fold it into a BEND were horrible! Frustrating words came out. but the finished product looks 'almost' perfect! ( i used origami paper...and the red is white on the inside...so the rose looks kindda weird!) but thank you sooo much for making something so hard much easier!

Like I usually say: if it doesn't work, then you did NOT make it right. :S Or maybe you just gave up to early. It's a bit tricky to get the whole thing together and if you put one piece upside-down it will mess the whole thing up HOWEVER...it'll all make sense in the end.

i wanted to learn to do a simple origami rose, and i randomely came across THIS... this... THING.... that is a box, then *POOF!* its a freaking FLOWER!?!? oh my god, thank you for your time, and hopefully i will accomplish my task of making it so small that i have to use pins to fold it (i make tiny things, like a deck of 52 playing cards in their case that can actually be played with, and the deck is smaller than my pinkie nail) i guess that is what being a stay-at-home mom will do to you.

Personally I wouldn't see the point of making something that small, you wouldn't be able to SEE that it was a box and then it turned into a rose. :P It's like..."here, I drew a painting of you but it's 5 mm high", I'd just be confused over that.

But I guess it would still be an accomplishment. You'd have to use veeery thin paper or the creases would get too thick. And it would be too small to glue together so it would be flimsy. But good luck! :P

I'm guessing it's because the red needs to fold around such a sharp corner. If you try flattening the green corners out a bit so they're more flat it should be easier.

Or you put it together wrong. :P

Cool box/rose. Accent didnt matter to me I heard just the right amount of guiding words to make it understandable. Well done. One point I have to make is when videoing a Origami project remember the back ground. If you had used a whitecloth the coloured papers would have been easier to see, a dark cloth for lighter coloured paper (white paper etc).

I can't make it for you, I live in sweden. :P it's not that hard to make one yourself if you just take it step-by-step. make one fold at a time and be calm. origami isn't something you should force.

you might have put it together wrong, the red part only opens if you put it together like I did in the video. :P though even if you put it together right the first opening is kind of tricky. it'll get easier once the paper gets softer.

it's hard to give advice when I can't see what you're doing but try to visualize the box as you're putting it together. :P the problem is that if you try and fail at putting it together you might crumple the paper and then it's really hard to make it work.

if it helps, try to do it the same way I do it in the video, I've learned a pretty good technique after making so many. :S

kewl... u use another kind of assembly.. the first i did was assemble the green ones and then add 1 red 1 and another and another. u put them all together first... much easier :D

im confued... i dont know why but in the first rose i made, i made it perfect but now in the second rose, the red part doesnt look like a rose and when i open it it falls apart.

a lot of people say that, I think it's because you put the three red pieces together wrong. the diagonals need to point together, on the green side the diagonals need to point away from each other. I'm not sure if that's the reason why it falls apart because I've never put it together wrong but that's my guess. :P

take it apart again and try to assemble it again according to the video, step-by-step.
