@KarenCoolio Thats a great question. ALWAYS incorporate the audience in your most intense and vulnerable moments...always look someone in the eyes when you're at the top of your performance...honestly, don't do the judge unless they're the only ones in the room. No one will forget when you let them see your soul through your eyes. Also, think of the piece as a conversation. Imagine yourself being asked a question by an audience member and that begins your piece.
@KarenCoolio Also, if there are members of the audience not paying attention (nerves, boredom, intimidation, etc.) make them your project. Get them to laugh, get them to look at you, play with the fact that you know they aren't looking. Then, the kicker, choose them to look at when you're most vulnerable, they will be in the palm of your hand. The judge will notice this......its your room, take it and use it wisely!!! Eye contact is so much fun, it brings the piece to your audience. Good Luck!
This is a wonderful piece. The delivery is absolutely wonderful! You should totally do college forensics. Competing at NFA is still one of my most treasured memories from my undergraduate days.
@papermastermao Watch the ones who place well....observe observe observe!!! Be a little observant monkey and find a way to make what goes over well fit to your personality and character. Good luck!!
This is NOTHING like seeing it in person... this piece is beautiful, girl.. your delivery is great and your outfit is great... and YOU ARE GREAT! haha... are you still competing?
Thank you, so much. Well I graduated, and I don't do college forensics, no. But I still love the stuff. Being a part of it is kind of addicting. haha.
excellent job! i just wish i was there to see you in person. i do prose and i have a really good chance for making it to state this year and if you have any tips, that would be awesome!
hey can i ask you how you deal with eye contact? i kept getting low scores due to my eye contact even when i did a good performance.
