Nadia Comaneci Olympic Vaults 1976 and 1980

Nadia's vault in the 1980 Olympics is actually higher and better executed than in 1976, except of course for the poor landing. Take a look at her vault in the team finals in Moscow. She scored a 9.90 for a very nice vault which put her in the final. Her best vaults were in 1979.

I don't know what it is, but there's something comforting about seeing top athletes fall. Of course, I don't want to see them hurt or anything, but seeing the fall gives a bit of a humanistic touch.

If only Nadia had vaulted her handspring 1 1/2  as beautifully as she did at the 79 Europeans and 79 World Cup... In 1980 she definitely was not at her peak. Has anyone seen her 1980 AA vault that scored 9.75? Or her vaults at the 79 world cup finals?

Aah! It's weird seeing Nadia fall! VH was never her best. She couldn't stick well.... except of course on a few occasions. The quality is actually pretty good considering it's from thirty years ago.

@ShawnVikaKomova2012 yeah she wasn't the ebst hereand we have to say that she was 4rd in Montreal but in 1980 she was just out of form .
