Fame in 1980 brings a different style of high school is all about as far as the School of the Performing Arts is concerned. It had great casting with Debbie Allen, Gene Anthony Ray and Irene Cara. The TV series was and still is the bomb too. BTW, The Tv Show Fame is on Ovation TV.

What I like about this trailer, is that it REALLY encapulates what the movie was ALL about. I mean, I remember seeing it while waiting to see the Brooke Shields movie 'The Blue Lagoon', wishing that I was seeing Fame already!!!

Anyway, great trailer to really great film. They don't make 'em like that anymore. I even like the film stock that they used--I don't know, the whole movie just looks a lot warmer than the way movies look nowadays.

@deckard97 well hollywood still hasn't caught on that PG movies make three times the amount of money that any other PG + rated movie does. And you know, originals are originals for a reason, they were the first. Like if they were to redo WarGames, I would be so mad cause it was such a good nonsexual movie about youth. Alas, every time I turn around it's something new and sexual that's being shoved into my 22 yr old face. Sex is nothing anymore but a transaction of money it seems.

This was the trailer for the movie "The Long Riders" back in 1980 and I could not wait until this movie came out. Can you believe the adult tickets were $2.50 and the kids ticket prices was $1.50. Such good memories damn I miss those days.

All the movies from 1980 are incomparable to the thousands of ones nowadays, unless the original is a completely different idea than the remake, or reimagining, people will probably prefer the original over the new one. However, that doesnt stop people from liking the new one as well, because of the generation that we live in, people share different opinions.

What im trying to say is movies will be different, some good some bad, leave it up to the critics and they will tell you.

Good film, pretty gritty. I remember watching the TV series too back in the 80s. I heard it wasn't popular in the US, but didn't get cancelled due to the massive popularity in the UK. I hope the new movie doesn't stink, but I'm guessing it probably will.
