If you can't grasp that players need fast hand-eye coordination, on-the-fly decision making, strategy, and mental endurance to play high level starcraft then you simply don't understand starcraft. Its so hard most people just give up and say "this is stupid". Starcraft isn't easy to learn/follow, which is why it is so misunderstood. However, Koreans do go way overboard with 12+ hours/day...

Ive have my share of intense games that I won, Starcraft isn't for that "casual gamer", that's why theirs a campain, custom maps, and even your very own maps. Now... I want to get this straight, I'm a casual gamer who has had a fair share of great games, I play it to have fun. That's what a game is for.

The point being that a lot of people look at progaming in a negative light and don't realize that most progames require similar skills to many sports (on the strategic and critical thinking side). I don't think esports and sports should be compared, but rather esports be accepted as a niche like poker (but bigger).
